Adelita Grijalva won her election fair and square.

Now House Speaker Mike Johnson is refusing to swear her in because she would be the final signature to release the Epstein files.

Mr. Speaker, respect democracy. Obey the law. Swear Representative Grijalva in immediately.

Trump: "We took the freedom of speech away because that's been through the courts and the courts said you have freedom of speech, but what has happened is when they burn a flag it agitates and irritates crowds."

My father worked on US aid projects in Myanmar and taught development economics to students at a university there. He passed away two years ago and I’m almost relieved that he’s not around to see this.

Fun times... explaining to university accounting why my travel reconciliation included BOTH a flight from Connecticut to Vancouver AND a ferry ride to get to Bamfield. Surely, they argued, a ferry ride must be a personal side-trip

OMFG….this is crazy!

He works at NIH & he was going for his green card hearing & he was kidnapped by ICE 😱
rosalafersousa.bsky.social
Over the weekend ICE abducted an NIH contractor when he showed up to a courthouse for his green card hearing. He is documented. His wife is a citizen.

He is also member of the skeleton crew of animal care staff that works through a shutdown, to ensure the health and wellbeing of research animals.

Understand what they are doing: using the massive power of the state - including military power and the power to imprison - to carry out a campaign to eliminate their political opposition.

It's growing in seriousness by the hour.

Another call for sources: I'm reporting on pediatric Covid vaccine access. If you've had trouble finding pediatric doses in stock, or if your child was turned away, I'd love to hear from you: [email protected].

Thanks to those who replied to my pregnancy callout; that story will be out soon.

OMFG🤬

Truly unbelievable. These folks are absolutely despicable if they want women to be executed for having an abortion…women need to start voting like our lives depend on the outcome of elections (which we all should have been doing all along)

ICYMI: One of Turning Point USA’s first campus events since Charlie Kirk’s murder is a panel of abortion “abolitionists” — extremists who want women executed for ending their pregnancies.

All the more reason to abandon support of Wiley journals.

The new Wiley journal review system is an absolute nightmare. Editorial assistants have been replaced by a clunky, AI-enabled website that makes it harder to find and invite reviewers. Associate editor workloads have increased. I'm not convinced the invitations to reviewers are even going through.

Yes, it's a mess. And there's no way for solicited reviewers to suggest alternate suggested reviewers besides emailing the journal directly, which is then (hopefully) forwarded to me the editor. Also, there's no indication that authors can suggest reviewers ??
