A few more reflections on Everton’s recent history as we reach the end of Moshiri’s time as owner:
1) whilst its been a disaster for Everton, we avoided the worst case scenario. No ordinary business with Everton’s finances would have survived at all. We were a 1-in-50 Doucoure screamer away from…

Love the Friedkin Group’s ambition for Everton Women. Woman’s football is the fastest growing sport in the world and TFG are showing vision to allow Everton to rise this wave, not get drowned by it.
A hat-trick on your debut in the Merseyside derby at Anfield?
Ornella Vignola would have taken that before the game.
The Everton winger has stunned Liverpool with a magnificent treble — it's 4-1 to the blue half of Merseyside.

Sounds fair to me.
Debut hat trick at Anfield has to be the best Everton debut ever? Brilliant from Vignola!

Made a bit of a meal of that at the end but a well deserved win overall. The summer transfers have significantly improved us. We wouldn’t have won this match last season. (Still want a no.6 and a RB though).

Is it... fun... to be an Evertonian again?

Smart play by Beto to dummy the ball for goal 2 - allowed a tap-in for Ndiaye. What a difference Jack and KDH have made!

The Woltemade fee shows how much the market for strikers has changed over the Summer. We were looking at him for £25-£30m in June. Thank goodness we got Thierno Barry over the line when we did - he’d be worth double what we paid for him now.

Seamus Coleman has played at least one competitive match for Everton in 17 seasons - more than any other outfield player and level with Neville Southall. #EFC

Absolutely beautiful goal by Alcaraz there. With all the excitement about the newer signings, it's a reminder of quite how good he is.

I’m already feeling excited about the match today. Not really about the result but what a historic day for our club.

My take on Grealish FWIW; he’s a fantastic player - much better than we currently have in attack and so will improve the team. He also
Plays in a positions we’re well served in already. Our most pressing needs coming into the window were a RW, CDM and RB. We still haven’t signed any of those….

Make no mistake, this is a ‘sliding doors’ moment for Everton - the biggest since we went into the Premier League in 1992 as a member of the ‘big 5’ and let that slip. New owners, new stadium, opportunity for a new squad. This is the opportunity to undo the damage of the last 30 years - let’s do it!

17 September 1987 aged 11. My first ever visit to Goodison. Everton 0 - 0 Tottenham with a Trevor Steven missed penalty. Sat in the Lower Bullens. Will never forget it.

I've no particular brief for Crystal Palace but I'm delighted a proper club won the FA Cup over one of the Super League 6.

Size of the re-build Everton need really apparent in last month. Players of clear quality:
Pickford
Branthwaite
O'Brien
Tark
Gana
Ndiaye
That's it...
Squad quality players:
Myko
Garner
Patterson?
McNeil
Alcaraz (worth buying for that cash)
Doucs and DCL (but both should go)
Armstrong (or loan)
