Take a minute to read how Congressman Dan Goldman’s office is actively pushing back against attacks on the rule of law—stepping in in real time to support immigrant families targeted by the Trump administration.
It began in the spring, when @repdangoldman.bsky.social went to work and “saw a dozen masked ICE agents in the lobby” of his office building.

He responded by turning his office into a "whole triage center" for detainees.

I know politics has taken over this story a bit, but FWIW, I first found out about what Goldman was doing months ago. I learned about it from the activists and immigrants. He is a crucial part of the fight against NY's courthouse detentions.
If Goldman thought a primary challenge was coming, he definitely made sure it wouldn't be on immigration.
Court watchers have built what they call a "habeas machine" with @repdangoldman.bsky.social.

For months, the congressman'office has been a rapid response center.

Families go there after a loved one is detained and lawyers immediately get on the case.

Advocates told us something powerful yesterday: our presence changed the dynamic inside 26 Federal Plaza and ICE agents finally respected people’s rights when a member of Congress was watching.

We will keep up this oversight so immigrants can attend court without fear or intimidation.

Excellent op-ed by @richiefife.bsky.social about the need for local journalism in NYC!! It's not just local flavor - it's crucial for democracy. Local elections decide important matters that affect our lives - we need more than social media, PAC mailers, and vibes. In @nydailynews.com
Sharing my op-ed on the importance of local journalism. If we want competitive elections, accountable institutions, and communities that feel seen and heard, we must rebuild the local press that makes democracy real. Welcome your thoughts, and please repost. www.nydailynews.com/2025/12/07/l...

Trump is tearing apart families and turning routine immigration visits into nightmares.
