I am sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Amani. Amani’s husband was martyred and she is raising her five boys on her own (she told me they all want to be doctors), Batoul, 13, Mohammed, 11, Hassan, 9, Omar, 5 and Youseff, 3. Both Amani and Omar have serious injuries and need care.

Reem used to run an association that provided psychological & health support to women with cancer. Now, she helps people in a new way—she runs a WCK-supported community kitchen in Khan Younis. Her kitchen is one of 60+ that we support across Gaza, providing vital meals to families. #ChefsForGaza

Interestingly, the *tone* of the DEI exclusion has changed (as has its placement) on the LPSC 2026 website:

It now says "we will not be able to consider abstracts with DEI content for the conference program".

To be clear, this inability is entirely self imposed.

It was good to talk with Elise for the article, and I'm glad Science is covering this topic. I don't know what you can call this policy *other* than censorship, and it's bullshit.
