Sandhill cranes have gotten used to people at Kensington. This one didn’t even bother to look up as I walked right past it on the trail. It only came around while I was interacting with a nearby downy woodpecker.

Very foggy and humid today in Glastonbury on my morning walk. Visibility was so low up the top of the Tor that I didn't get any photos up there. A bit of blossom brightened things up a bit.

The Brown Thrasher is a Grackle sized bird with rufous tail, back and head and a Buffy or white spotted chest and belly. The long down curved bill is used to probe the ground for worms, insects, seeds and nuts according to All About Birds and as I observed. #bird #nature #wildlife #birdwatching

For everyone who struggles with hairy vs. downy woodpecker, here's a fun clue... look at the red spot. On a hairy (pic 1) it's two spots, but on the downy, it's one solid patch 🤓
