Despite playing just 42.0% of available PL minutes, Martin Ødegaard has played more line-breaking passes into the penalty area than any other Arsenal player this season.

He proved beyond doubt how valuable he is to #AFC in the statement win over Aston Villa.

Martin Ødegaard played a key role in Arsenal’s statement win over Aston Villa on Tuesday. With him in this kind of form, there may be no stopping his side in the title race.

Love those two as late subs. That doesn’t feel like a one-off. They have so many of the qualities you want against tired legs.

The thing about Martinelli- Although his end product reduced over the past 1.5 years, he has been really good in other phases of play. Any player competing for that LW role has his work cut out for him. If Gabi does lose his place, he will not stop breathing down his competitions neck. Don’t sell.

Decisive transfer activity. I was worried that KSE is happy to have top 4 finishes without pushing. This transfer window completely obliterates that hypothesis. They want to push for more. Let’s fucking go.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal make move for Eberechi Eze + 27yo wants them. Tottenham lined up deal with #CPFC today & player but after Havertz injury + #AFC now closing in on England in’l. If he proceeds with choice, #THFC will pursue other targets

After a summer of planning for it, Arsenal played fast, incredibly fast. In fact their direct speed was 55% higher than the average since 2022-23.

Were the seven seconds or less Gunners entirely by design, a function of a chaotic game or just messy? www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/...
Arsenal were faster than ever in win at Manchester United, but is new style here to stay or circumstantial?
The 2.02 meters per second they advanced towards goal is 55% quicker than the average of 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25

What was up with Saka today? Looked really off it. Hopefully just early season form issues that will go away over the next couple of weeks.

I am really enjoying all the whining and stat posting that United fans are doing. Absolutely rattled.

Rare for the silver lining to be the result, but that was genuinely atrocious from Arsenal.

Fine, we kept the clean sheet, but there was nothing authoritative about that performance at all. Huge improvement needed.

Calafiori is on a yellow and he takes off Martinelli for Madueke? Calafiori might get sent off today

Arsenal currently at 76.8% pass completion, their lowest in a Premier League game since the 2-2 draw at Manchester City last September. It'd be fair to say there were more mitigating circumstances for them giving the ball away then.

That first half was a little reminder from Mikel Merino that, for all his success in attack, he will be an important player in midfield over the next few seasons. He's won nine of his 13 duels (the most of anyone on the pitch), made the most tackles and threatened in the box.

Brentford had an expected goals total of just 0.19 against Arsenal. It’s the fourth lowest xG for a team to avoid defeat in a Premier League match this season, with two of the other three also coming against Arsenal (Everton 0.09 in December, Fulham 0.16 in December). via @optajoe.com

It’s been a tiring season, full of weirdness. We missed White for four months, Saka for four, Ode for a dozen games, Merino at the start when he was learning the team, Kai for what will be 15 games and cups. We are in 2nd, 10 clear of 5th, and in the CL QF.

It’s one hell of a job by MA, the squad.

Also, Forest using the Porto blueprint for our set-pieces. A player throws themselves to the ground with minimal contact, ref invariably gives a free kick.

Seeing some very familiar patterns in how people (and prominent media people) have been talking about Lewis-Skelly recently.

I’m reminded of the narrative around Sterling, Pogba, Rashford and why they needed to stay in their lanes, be humble. I wonder what they all have in common.
