On this Jan 6th, take it from a person who grew up with a narcissistic mother: RESISTANCE isn't always combat.

Resistance is also choosing actions that give you your own self-respect. Finding healthy sources of information outside of them.

& fighting FOR your own ideals, instead of fighting them.

Happy book day to my friend and her wonderful hound!

Curses and Curtains series is a good, light-hearted but also snarky romp in the middle of a Venn diagram made from musicals and fantasy.

Can’t wait!

Also, everyone on the right side of the poster looks like they could be a Doctor Who and everyone on the left looks like a companion.

Talking about indie books you enjoyed is key for those authors to sell books! Very few of us have the resources to run ads or market.

What are some indie books you enjoyed recently?

Farm fresh chicken egg. But it’s color-changing?

I held onto this for a minute while talking to my husband and it went from green to blue where my fingers were! Green/blue eggs were already cool enough, they didn’t need to enchant me further.

I ordered more books. Do I have space for them? In my heart and head, yes. In my house? Nope.

They are mostly field guides for wildlife and plants, so technically they will be with me outside, right? That saves space, right? 🫣

Homemade applesauce, homemade sauerkraut, homegrown sunflower sprouts, and dry rub pork chops. I haven’t enjoyed pork chops this much before.

This entire thread made my day.
Unfortunately I tried to relay these amazing facts to my husband who did not tell me he was on a call and there was a moment when the other end might have heard the phrase “migratory testicles”.
I have been doing entirely too much earnest posting about deep things recently, I need to do a proper thread about hippo testicles or something just to keep myself sane.

Oh by the way hippos have migratory testicles.
