Perhaps if he'd done some basic fucking googling he'd find out that "Dr." was originally a title for PhDs, not MDs

Also I can't tell you how many times trolls have used my ethnomusicology PhD to suggest I don't have the range to speak on a political/social topic. It's deeply infuriating.

An arrest has been made in the Palisades Fire, one of the most catastrophic fires in US history. Thousands of homes in my community were destroyed, mine was damaged & many lives were lost. He set the fire on 1/1 which simmered on the ground until the massive winds blew it into action a wk later.

the best of what an ensemble cast can offer. The 6 main leads in early seasons were all given so much depth. I was also surprised to remember how much space they gave to secondary characters like Jeanie. And the way the show incorporated diversity & addressed racism, HIV, etc. was remarkable.

I started rewatching this year pegged to the debut of The Pitt, and I'm re-hooked! I watched religiously while it was airing - I was 18 when it debuted. But I didn't remember how great it was, particularly when revisiting it in the age of "prestige TV." The storytelling is so well-rounded - really..

Happy 40th anniversary to the truly outrageous #Jem, which premiered on October 6th, 1985. Even though I did like the Misfits more (their songs were better, even the theme song said so) Between Jem, She-Ra, Golden Girls, & ThunderCats, 1985 sure was a formative TV year for one little gay Gen X boy.
