and what doth the Lord require of thee but to do justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Finally managed to get it done. Skeeting was clearly the dam breaker!

This is impossible to do online. The links keep trying to sell you more cards. The chat and phone line gives endless runaround.

I’ve spent the past hour trying to cancel my dad’s Amex card. He’s been dead for over a year. The dude on the phone is still trying to convince me he gets great value from it. Have I mentioned he’s dead?!?

I barely credit myself with a basic ability to interact with living humans, but I’m occasionally reminded that by academic standards I’m a freaking sociopolitical genius. 🙄

Every time I wonder why we are so freaking paranoid, I am reminded of why we are so freaking paranoid. 🤣🤣😭

At some point in the last 50 years, the Presbyterians changed the words to the Doxology. Not sure how long it took me to notice. Years I’m sure.

I was in my comfy bed in my comfy pjs with a book by 8:30 last night. I’d say “this is what happens when you hit 50” but I’ve always been this way.

Went to a party hosted by an absolute icon
A hanging banner spelling out “PLEASE LEAVE BY 8”

I'm old and don't watch much that comes in video formats, so I guess it slipped past me! LOL

I will say, my 13yo literally laughed in my face when I asked if he'd ever heard of Bad Bunny.
rmdean.bsky.social
I’ll admit that in this particular instance I don’t know what I believe because I’d never heard of Mr Bunny until, well, today. I’m definitely not the one losing sleep over a Super Bowl halftime show. Honestly, nobody should unless they’re literally performing in it.

Saying "The NFL sucks.." really is a bold strategy, let's see how that goes
patriottakes.bsky.social
Kristi Noem’s message to the NFL for selecting Bad Bunny for the halftime show:

“The NFL sucks and we’ll win and God will bless us and we’ll stand and be proud of ourselves at the end of the day and they won’t be able to sleep at night because they don’t know what they believe…”

Didn’t know that but definitely not surprised.

Yeah, I kinda guffawed at the grade inflation thing. In a laugh-or-else-I’ll-cry way.

I think some folks don’t understand the reason for sex imbalances in higher ed and are going to be surprised by the results of not considering sex in college admissions.

I have feelings about Microsoft. Deep, deep feelings.

Sure, I spent the whole day getting the Power Automate to send a dozen emails. But the next time I need to send those emails, all I need to do is change this one field and...spend another day trying to get Power Automate to send a dozen emails.

I should have known he had an anthropological lens on the world. Why else would I love reading about mens wear?!?

Jane Goodall was my first childhood hero, as I loved animals as a kid and was inspired by her story. I still remember the National Geographic specials about her. RIP.

I’m sad to hear the news that the wonderful Jane Goodall is no longer in the world. Her work with chimpanzees at Gombe in Tanzania taught us to look at other apes - and ourselves - differently. I was privileged to meet her later in life and tell her what an inspiration she was to me.
