Amateur movie critic, amateur fantasy novel writer, amateur history buff, pretty much amateur everything. For nuanced and informative takes on gaming and movies, go to Roger Ebert's old site. For dumb shit, click here:

Even if this is true, Larian, every time you push the button to generate one of those ghoulish, shambling husks, you’re thrusting another dagger into the heart of the planet. You are ShinRa from Final Fantasy VII.

Immediately thought of this phrase/movie.

My first was Jim Henson. I was quite young. It was as if Kermit himself had died. That introduced me to the idea that famous people COULD die.

As an adult, Roger Ebert, Ray Bradbury and Anthony Bourdain did the most damage.

These are my GOAT comics. There’s a reason I went to some effort to track down all Barks’s longer stories at cons and shops over a period of years (only to have Fantagraphics turn around and give them all top shelf treatment after I was done…but that’s okay).

I’m just having a little fun at you all’s expense here, but when someone says their favorite movie is something insanely popular like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings, I DO tend to wonder if they’ve seen other movies.

What’s a non-superhero comic that should be adapted into a show or a movie?

I’ll start: Eisner’s A Contract with God and the sequels are almost perfectly designed for a limited series.

Kingdom of Heaven is underrated. What did you think of FF?

I can’t remember the last time a Spielberg movie actually had hype, or a big ad campaign beyond just posters and trailers. Maybe Lincoln? The work’s been good, but he hasn’t had an event film in some time. It would be nice to see him rejoin Del Toro and Nolan in that camp.

Re-watch. Liked it a lot in 2006, and this is my first re-watch. Let’s see how it holds up.

Re-watch. This will only be my second viewing, and I don’t think I was really mentally ready when I watched it probably 20 years ago.
