The words we use to talk about nature are disappearing. Here’s why that matters.
We’ll need to do more than ‘touch grass’ to revive them.

Oxford continued to use a human skull donated in 1946 by a noted fascist as a drinking vessel until *2015* only to then claim that they dealt with the matter "ethically and thoughtfully." British colonialism in a nutshell.

I've cossed more international borders than most, been through checkpoints and searches and have trained human rights activists, journalists and others in staying safe in repressive regimes. In the past few days I've provided some friends with travel advice for no particular reason; here's a thread:

This 👇🏽 This year alone I’ve read/listened to 61 books (working on 62 + 63 right now), all from our local library. Not to mention access to digital magazines (Harper’s, Cook’s illustrated, etc).
I finally got a library card like 2 weeks ago. I had no idea how much online stuff they had available! I've been renting books nonstop on my Kindle. Support your local library!
I added “get a library card” to my bio since 50% of my presence on here is just telling y’all to support public libraries 💀

Voy a crear este hilo para los nuevos o para quien aún no sepa lo que es Bluesky y cómo funciona de manera interna. Estaría bien compartir este hilo a la gente nueva para que pueda entender todo un poco mejor. 🧶

Decoloniality is destruction/reconstruction. It means refusing complicity (e.g., Boaventura supporters), while recognizing “that what [needs] to be repaired is irreparable. It can’t be repaired. The only thing we can do is tear this shit down completely and build something new.
