Lover of music, photography, dogs and dirt. Not necessarily in that order.
Super excited to be discussing Judith Nangala Crispin's extraordinary artwork, at the AGNSW next Wednesday Her images of native animals - created on the roadside, without a camera, using photo-sensitive paper & exotic chemistry - are simply stunning. Come!

My elderly Greek neighbours died recently, and their kids sold the house. They've put out this 70's lounge for collection. And it's in PERFECT condition. The plastic wrap did its job.

My friend Craig Schuftan is a brilliant sound producer. After leaving triple j, he moved to Berlin, where he created this work. It's a deeply creative response to a cassette he found in an op shop.....Audio art that your ears will thank you for.

Why on earth is the ABC platforming 2GB presenters on its news website? There are so many ways to report on John Laws death. All far more interesting than this. Laws was at 2UE when at his peak. It's simply lazy.

So very well said!
Opinion | "John Laws was one of the great radio showmen. His whole schtick was to create controversy and to bring his audience into the fold so they could enjoy his power vicariously."
John Laws was king of the airways — and he hooked me, line and sinker

Once ran the numbers on John Laws’ claim he had 2 million listeners. Had less than 200k. Published it. He rang, abused me, sent lawyers, heavied my fill-in editor who buckled meekly and gave Laws op-ed space in which he defamed me. Not 1 word of my original piece was changed/corrected.

John Laws is dead. One of Australia's most successful broadcasters. As a teenager I rang his show. We argued for 10mins on air. He hung up on me with the words "you're obviously a loser in life & going nowhere. Goodbye."

Off to enjoy the mighty sounds of Youthgroup tonight, at the Landsdowne Hotel, in Sydney. A fitting night to see them too, considering the title of their last album.....

I camped behind the pub earlier this year, & ate a counter meal. Let me tell ya, it's pretty run down, a bit grubby and to my eyes, worth nowhere near $50m. But hey.....

I was lucky enough to work with David many years ago, doing studio sound for SBS-TV, when he hosted the Movie Show. He was unfailingly polite, generous and the ultimate professional.
What a giant legacy. Vale.
