In order to pass “Pause Evictions, Save Lives” to take effect before rent is due on March 1st, we need 13 votes at City Council. Emergency rental assistance will require 10 votes.

Please contact your Council Member. Thousands of families are facing evictions because of ICE's ongoing occupation.

At the same time, we’ll vote to allocate $1 million in emergency rent assistance. 60 days notice for evictions buys us time to disperse rent assistance to families in need–and provides a window for Gov Walz to implement an eviction moratorium to keep families in their homes and safer from ICE.

As ICE’s occupation of the Twin Cities continues, it’s time for Target to pick a side. Great to join @twincitiesdsa.org on the picket lines to turn up the heat on Target.

No one should have to choose between earning a living and risking abduction. Relying on ordinary residents to protect their neighbors and keep them safe is not a burden they should carry alone.

I'm excited to carry on this legacy of local government that leaves no stone unturned to deliver creative, impactful solutions for a safer, more affordable Minneapolis that's accountable to all our residents.

Minneapolis has a strong socialist tradition, electing a socialist mayor in 1916. The platform of Mayor Thomas Van Lear still resonates 110 years later: campaigning for a municipal food market and reducing street car fares, and opposing corporate ownership of utility companies.

No, Frey signature was not needed. Both MPLS and St Paul City Councils passed unanimous supporting resolutions and they were sent to the Governor’s office. An Eviction Moratorium falls strictly under Walz authority and it’s his decision to make alone.

People around the country are looking to Minnesota right now, to see what we will do in the face of this federal terror, to support our neighbors and keep each other safe. That requires bold leadership to stand against ICE’s terrorizing of our neighborhoods.

@sorenwithward8.bsky.social and I break down who we need to put pressure on:

*Eviction Moratorium = Gov Walz
*Emergency rent assistance = City Council, Mayor Frey, State Leg
*Prosecute Jonathan Ross = County Attorney Mary Moriarty, AG Keith Ellison
*No federal $ for ICE = Senators Klobuchar, Smith

Call, email, and tag @governorwalz.mn.gov. Rent is due this week. We need an Eviction Moratorium immediately.

Governor Walz must match the courage of our communities who are out every day protecting their neighbors and implement an eviction moratorium. Evict ICE, not us.
