We literally got a leadership update at 4:30.
When a person or institution chooses to schedule an announcement on the Friday afternoon before Christmas which was also scheduled as Epstein Dump Day, that tells you a lot about the pride they have in the announcement.

From my own niche: institutions of higher education should stop chasing trends, work internally to assert a set of values, and then build curriculum around those values.
just a collection of "inevitable" multi-billion dollar tech that was going to be the future of everything until everyone in the audience who was supposed to just get on board said "lol no"

The Somali community was well-established in Minnesota when I lived there in the late ‘90s and early aughts. The vitriol being directed at them is just as dangerous as any attack on any other group would be. Turning people against their neighbors only hurts communities.

We went to doing this for evaluation, promotion, and tenure letters from the department.
Annual reminder that one nice thing you can do as a coworker is, if you have to write peer reviews, just go ahead and ask your peers what accomplishments they’re proud of this year, and what they want to work on next year. It’ll make your job writing them easier, and help their best work be seen
