The thing that worries me is that if/as he gets more popular, this will/is encouraging the far right mobs on the streets. As far as I am aware, back in the 80s there were regular incidences of brazen and blatant attacks on non-white people and the left, a reoccurrence of this trend is what I fear.

We are in the foothills of a solar-wind-battery civilisation. This is our best chance of avoiding catastrophe. But it threatens the profits of fossil fuel companies & nations - so these are pouring money into right-wing populism to stop the transition. This seems to me the biggest story in politics.
