6pm update… measuring approximately 2.25cm of snowfall. One interesting note is that the snowfall is not accumulating vertically even though we have light winds. Station is mounted at 0°N and is accumulating more on the SE section of my station. #NSstorm #NSwx #Halisky

4pm update… flurries have stopped giving us a bit of a lull, looking at radar (@wxwise.app) it looks like there’s a small pocket affecting us which will be filled in shortly.

Just had a good 3min shower of GS here in Hammonds Plains. When I measured them with callipers most were only about 3mm though I did have some near the 6-7mm size as well. #NSstorm #NSwx #halisky

This is why you should be critical over the data you’re receiving by default. Using Apple weather you’d see that today actually feels pretty decent, but you look at the ECCC weather app and it’s a different story.

I’m sure it’s just a miscalculation and will be fixed, but these things do matter.

I pulled over to take this picture of the road conditions within Oromocto. They are not great at all, and the snow is a super sticky snow which fill up the treads on your tires.

When I passed the overpass for Highway 2, it looked very similar to this.

Seen these two obs from @CoCoRaHSCanada and I calculated the SLR, and it varies between 3.7:1 and 6.7:1… that’s some HEAVY snow. #NBstorm #NBwx
