I would add:
If you're thinking "I do and women still (etc)"
Ask yourself: "Did these people/groups value me as a person before I asked?"
If not: Gamer, find ones that do.
Take it from a guy whose luck turned around after interacting with local gaming groups more; Sometimes it's an environment issue

Genuine advice- be pleasant, be a good listener, talk about what you’re passionate about without being gatekeepy and weird about it, ask questions about what they’re passionate about. If you don’t talk to anyone, you absolutely need to start practicing. You need to be good at communicating.
