Yes.
Trump’s post that Rob Reiner had a stabbing death coming to him because he opposed Trump will be forgotten in a day or two. Like everything else. If we were a rational society, these appalling words and actions would be cumulative and we’d get rid of the bastard. Instead everything is a one-off.

Just rewatched my favorite Christmas movie, Morvern Callar, first recommended to me by my friend I still haven't met, Michael Duane; it remains absolutely brilliant, and dark as any dream should be. Beautiful.

My doctor asked me today how much I drink. Two or three drinks a day, I said. I didn't mention how much I drink at night.

There Will Be Blood (2007, d. Anderson) Daniel Day-Lewis gets an Oscar doing Sean Connery with an excellent script and a cast of excellent actors who all outshine him in this pretty good tale of greed. I don’t fucking get it.

Fun fact: Modelo was the number one beer in the country until recently. It dropped because Latinos are no longer gathering and going out as they did before.
U.S. Latinos are now more worried about being asked to prove their legal status during their daily activities (43% today vs. 31% in March), and roughly 1 in 5 have changed their daily routines because of it.

The outside of your hand.
"Unsurprisingly, the White House is trying to lie its way through it. The only explanation offered so far for Trump's mangled hand is a laughable one about 'frequent handshaking.' And president now says it's 'treasonous' to report on his health."
A band-aid on a festering hand wound
Something's up with Trump's health and we should really find out what it is.

"Saw" Jonathan Richman tonight, on what apparently was my fifth anniversary of returning to Santa Cruz. View sucked, but it was outdoors on a reasonable night at The Crepe Place, and man he was amazing. Probably the funniest show I've seen. And I've seen a ton of shows.

Ma Ma (2015, d. Medem) Penelope Cruz carries this film as the woman who gets breast cancer as her teacher husband is embarking on a summer tour with a blonde student. Their soccer star son is excelling at a junior league game when Cruz is befriended by a man who is a junior scout for Real Madrid.

Pearl Harbor Day. The NFL will doubtless commemorate with fly overs, as though condoning murder from above. I thought this was akin to Veteran's Day, where we celebrate those who've served, but that doesn't seem to be what we do in this country.
