Arch journals and award committees have an ethical responsibility here. Consumer culture relies on the manufacturing of desire, transforming items into "wants" that are prioritised over "needs". Consumers are conditioned to believe this is aspirational as opposed to crass, and the cycle perpetuates.

David Lammy must realise that we’re past the point of threatening sanctions.

Every day the Government sits on its hands, more innocent civilians are being killed in Gaza while over a million are at risk of starvation.

Sanctions are needed now, including against Netanyahu.
