This afternoon I was at the London Film Festival at the BFI to see Rian Johnson speaking about the art of making a murder mystery on films. Fantastic interview, full of great clips from various whodunnits including my beloved Evil Under the Sun and the new Benoit Blanc. Amazing time.

Pretty much all of my in-person friends including my partner can be traced to social media going back decades (even friends I met in person were mostly via people I met on social media), particularly invaluable in moving countries. And then there's Bona Books, which is also thanks to social media.

I know that the show was set post-Avengers blah blah but it always felt so dated/out of touch to me for this reason. Couldn't suspend any disbelief. Hell's Kitchen is practically cosy irl.

GRIFFIN IN SUMMER is an absolutely adorable, painfully, beautifully relatable movie. Incredible performances across the board, but Everett Blunck absolutely carries the entire film in such a revelatory way for an actor so young.
