I love that PLURIBUS is such a huge budgeted show AND Queer! We just don't get to see that often at all.

Nup, it's as useless as the Giant Robot fight in the middle of Bergman's Persona.

The Creature rips the skin off a dog halfway through, if that's not your "the level of violence here is clearly beyond the pale" point, what is?

Should the creature start molesting women throughout the film? Kick a bunny rabbit? Burn down an orphanage?

Took five hours almost to the minute for someone to drop the old "RETURN OF THE KING had too many endings!" chestnut, so here's a thing I wrote for Paste's film section (RIP) about that.

It's like saying "I watched FROZEN the other day and it was so awful when Elsa fucked the snowman, this is a flaw in the movie"

Describing something that is fundamentally untrue about a film is not, I feel, valid film discourse, nor covered under the defence of being a "difference of opinion"

Had a nosebleed remembering the "Del Toro's Frankenstein presents the Creature as having zero flaws" take I saw the other day.

There's like 7 innocent people so brutally and horrifically murdered in the first 3 minutes, he rips out a guys jawbone for fuck's sake, I don't know how you'd ADD flaws???

As a survivor of the Tulsa Race Massacre, Viola Ford Fletcher bravely shared her story so that we’d never forget this painful part of our history. Michelle and I are grateful for her lifelong work to advance civil rights, and send our love to her family.

I KNEW going in and it still took a moment where I was like "who the hell is this brilliant actor they got to play the twin?"

It's both an incredible performance, and FLAWLESS technical execution.
I've read two separate threads on two different subreddits today where multiple people openly confess to not realizing Smoke and Stack are played by the same actor in SINNERS, and I'm shook.

Share a 90s movie that needs more love:

NOISES OFF has fallen a bit into obscurity, and it absolutely rips. Brilliant cast. Cracking dialogue. And Bogdanovich at the height of his powers.

I am BEGGING wrestling podcasters, ESPECIALLY the ones who are good, to stop treating Twitter/X as your assignment desk. Opinions on a site explicitly, openly dedicated to ragebaiting, from people paid to piss other people off on the orders of its Nazi owner, are not worth listening to 🤼

I once pressed a guy about "what about after", cause I have 13 specs and counting on my table, they aren't doing anything and he was like "I dunno, you can submit to the Blacklist site" 🙃

I guess "Write your spec but don't make it too gay cause money people hate that"

Or "Write your spec... based off the IP you bought the rights to with a spare $150k you had lying around" aren't as catchy on twitter... 🙃

I think the thing that gets me is like yes, there are people who "want to be a writer" but don't want to write, but why are we catering advice for them?

They don't love writing, they just wanna be rich and famous. Genuine writers ALREADY ARE writing specs.

Movies like Fury Road prove that shooting digital has nothing to do with whether or not you can make a movie look fucking fantastic.

It shits me to no end. We're so afraid of something not looking nice that everything just looks like nothing.
November 24, 2025 at 6:52 AM
It's not even a digital vs film thing we just need to *stop diffusing* every damn light in a scene including and ESPECIALLY the sun!

Posting it, fine, old person moment, whatever
Gleefully going "i fucking love it and am listening to it over and over and over again" that's fucked.

Actress Alexandra Billings just outed herself as a die-hard fan of AI slop.

She posted an AI thing and people went into her comments to say "what the fuck this is AI" and she is gleefully responding to every single one of them with how much she loves AI slop.
