2/ My state lib arts university had a required course called "presentations." We did not present on quarterly sales numbers, we presented on fun stuff. Everybody had to get in front of the class and do it. But the class is about prepping for how to present quarterly sales numbers.

3/ "But I don't need that for my profession!" I promise you whatever you do in life with a college degree, you will present in front of people eventually. Maybe as part of your job, maybe once a year, maybe at a conference. You have to respond to an emergency email in 5 min.

4/ Stripping this stuff out *doesn't work* because *nobody else* is willing to teach you it. Lots of people who slack through high school are not forced to do it, many STEM majors can sneak by without these skills and are handicapped later.

5-FINAL/ Lots of people thinks all this is useless because they're either 1) adept at it, or 2) are the person someone else has to do it for, and let me tell you, your colleagues far prefer 1).
