Hilarious the far right is mad Trump didn't get the Nobel and the far left is mad that a Venezuelan resistance leader got the Nobel. Nice little dose of horseshoe theory for everyone's Friday.

My take from that debate is Sears will run one ad saying Spanberger refused to denounce Jones and Spanberger will run an anti-gay marriage ad about Sears and an “that lady’s crazy” ad.
ratelimitexceeder.bsky.social
It would have been relatively easy for Sears not to blow this debate. Denounce Jones, be vague with any question you don’t like and yell about trans people. She’s chosen the “yell about everything all the time” strategy, which is blowing it.

They aren’t going to Gaza but it does seem a little dumb.
ratelimitexceeder.bsky.social
I mean for now but if Israel no longer blockades Gaza hard to imagine a scenario where someone doesn’t get guns in.
ratelimitexceeder.bsky.social
Predictable but disappointing that people are thinking Trump somehow magically ended the war when in reality he sat around while Israel starved Gaza and killed most of Hamas leadership. And we have no idea if Hamas actually demilitarizes.

As someone married to a bi woman my experience is there’s a class of guys who think that dating a bi woman means your life is porn and this isn’t true. What I’ve found weirdest is the people who get insecure when they find out their bi partner had some sexual experience with a different gender.
ratelimitexceeder.bsky.social
Is this about understanding orientation or gender roles or a mix of both?

Didn't her paperwork directly contradict the claim?

Watched anyone succumb to dementia? It's not a fun experience.
ratelimitexceeder.bsky.social
It's been obvious for awhile now but he's understandably worried he'll get his dad's dementia. Wouldn't wish it anyone, but a responsible administration would be releasing this information given his family history.

Trump: "I also did a cognitive exam. Which is always very risky because if I didn't do well, you'd be the first to be blaring it and I had a perfect score. And one of the doctors said he's almost never seen a perfect score. I had a perfect score. That made me well good ... not the easiest test."

Localities that have a population at least 40% black in Virginia have seen 8.5% of their 2024 votes as opposed to 9.9% statewide. The obvious drag here is big cities, every black locality that cast more 20,000 votes in 2024 is voting slower than the state.
ratelimitexceeder.bsky.social
3-FINAL/ However, it is somewhat worrying that the majority-black cities in the Tidewater/VA Beach region aren't seeing great turnout. That could foreshadow bad Election Day turnout among black voters period. However, smaller black localities are doing well so we'll see.

2/ So rural counties - with older populations that don't have to work and do have time to drive and wait in line - tend to outvote big blue counties where most people have jobs, and driving there can take up to an hour one-way. So they naturally have an advantage right now.
ratelimitexceeder.bsky.social
1/ Because right now most localities only let you vote in-person at the county (or city's) registrar's office, and there's only one of those per county/city. So people with day jobs aren't going to vote because lines are too long/registrar's office is too far from work.
ratelimitexceeder.bsky.social
2-FINAL/ Right now people think Spanberger has 60% of the early vote, so in order for Sears to have a prayer she needs to do *much better* on Election Day than Trump did. I think that's unlikely.
ratelimitexceeder.bsky.social
1/ By the end we'll have a decent idea of how many voters each side has banked and how much Republicans would need to overperform on Election Day turnout to win. Harris got 53% of early-in-person votes, and 73% of the mail - so 57% of the early vote overall. But Trump also won 54% of Election Day.
ratelimitexceeder.bsky.social
5-FINAL/ Despite this improvement, thanks to big blue areas still lagging - Loudoun and Prince William in Northern Virginia, Norfolk and Newport News in the Tidewater, the overall gap between red and blue hasn't budged. That should change when early voting sites open toward the end of the month.
ratelimitexceeder.bsky.social
4/ While most of the localities that saw their early vote grow the fastest were already voting the most, we're seeing some big blue localities starting to pick up - like Alexandria city, Albemarle County (outside Charlottesville), and Henrico County (just north of Richmond).
ratelimitexceeder.bsky.social
3/ The worst performers are either very rural Republican counties in the southwest, or bigger blue counties, usually in Northern Virginia, but the majority-black cities of the Tidewater are slow too. This is probably largely a function of early-voting sites in the bigger localities not yet opening.
ratelimitexceeder.bsky.social
2/ Notably Goochland and Fluvanna counties have kept pace with York County. These are two rural/exurban counties just west of Richmond in central Virginia with competitive House of Delegates races. Turnout patterns are getting more uniform, with red localities slightly ahead of blue ones.
ratelimitexceeder.bsky.social
1/ Another Virginia early vote check-in. With 446,170 votes cast as of yesterday, we're at 9.9% of 2024's total. Like last time, the Virginia Peninsula counties are still leading the pack, with James City County trading Williamsburg city for the top spot at 21.2% of the 2024 vote cast.

Oh I know. Life expectancy is too low and healthcare is too expensive in Appalachia, let’s close all the hospitals and drive down healthcare costs. Now that’s it’s cheaper to go to the doctor people will get more preventative care.
ratelimitexceeder.bsky.social
Yes I think even if this agreement works there’s another war down the bend soon enough.
