Someone dumped a litter of kittens. Clean and socialized and scared.
I always wanted the kitten distribution system to pick me. I've now saved 14 kittens and have to many cats to keep any.
But they sure are cute.

I've never seen this. I have several baby orchids (keikis) from flower stalks but I've never seen a new bud from an orchid base. The plant seems healthy and thriving. But there's a baby sprout 🤷♀️

This is why I switched to “and why is it bad to be autistic” with anti-vaxxers. It doesn’t work to site statistics at them, because they’re not actually worried about vaccines, it’s just ableism. And not everyone can be talked out of ableism, but a lot of people *can* if you make them think about it
I've been reading a book about how to actually change people's minds about various divisive issues. As we know, that doesn't mean telling facts (expositing facts just makes them dig in harder). Instead, you invite them to think about WHY they hold those views. a.co/d/izez2xa

Thanks past self for hoarding water in case water pipes freeze. Arrived at my favorite family farm to burst pipes but I can survive a day or two while I gey repairs made... (this is not for drinking but I can wash hands and flush a toilet a few times)

My family's cabin is filled with quirky weirdness and vintage things. The couch always had a yellow flower pillowcase, but I always hated the striped one paired with it. It just didn't belong. I looked on ebay, loved the idea of blue flowers and decided on this one. It is the exact same pattern.

I'm more and more convinced that people who light fireworks lack empathy- for their neighbors, pets, wildlife, veterans. And I believe that trait coincides with Elie Wiesel's definition of evil.

A big reason you dont want to get hurt by July 4th fireworks is literally all medical residents (pretty much doctor interns) start July 1st. Seriously.
It was a busy day at hospitals around the US getting ready for the official changeover of residency and fellowship classes that happens tomorrow. Hopefully everyone gets a good rest tonight for the fun that starts in the morning. Here are some busy long-horned bees cuddled under a flow for the night

🚨Someone has intentionally set a brushfire in Idaho in order to lure firefighters in just so they could shoot them. Two of the firefighters have been pronounced dead. This is a developing story.

I've never seen crows in my yard before. But I've also been wishing I could befriend some. Today 8? Showed up? Squawked at me quite a bit. I gave them banana and a tiny bit of bread and a watermelon crust. Neverminding the omens, biologically why would a murder of crows randomly show up in a yard?
