One thing about Brother that stuck out to me is the eye motif that persistent in a lot of scenes. I wonder if he did something similar in the episode he directed for SFA. Thanks for giving me a reason to rewatch so soon!

Agreed! A total comfort Captain. The dynamic between her and Caleb Mir is awesome. Hunter definitely has that “it” factor. She owns that role.

#StarfleetAcademy takes a lot of what made #StarTrekProdigy great and transfers it well into a live-action medium. I’m very impressed with the cast chemistry especially between old and new characters. There’s a certain magic here that’s been missing from other shows. Excited to see where it goes.

There are certain aspects of #StarfleetAcademy that will take getting used to (like the modern vernacular), but it feels hopeful and light while balancing the adverse childhood experiences that many of the students grew up with. As an educator, I see a lot of my students in these characters.

#StarTrek #StarfleetAcademy “Beta Test” was a wonderful exercise in building out the world of the 32nd century. Zoë Steiner as Tarima Sadal is a great addition to this cast and I’m excited to see where she goes. This episode felt like classic Trek for its ability to find middle ground and community.

I just finished that one a few weeks ago. Listened to the audiobook alongside reading the physical copy and that was quite the experience with an incredible vocal performance by Robin Miles. Such an innovative way to write a love letter to NYC.

Seconding that N.K. Jemisin is great. “The Broken Earth” trilogy is phenomenal and so is “The City We Became.”

Same!! I think it’ll be different enough from Discovery that’ll be its own thing but still scratch a similar itch.
