“Do not spit from ride. Remain seated.” warns a sign at one end of the SkyRide, an overhead chairlift that runs from one end of the main fairground to the other. People stroll around below with the midway in the distance.

Food stands from roasted corn to deep fried cheese curds. The main ferris wheel towers beyond.

“Chunks o Chicken” and “Curly’s Fries”, people silhouetted by the afternoon sun that flares the end of the frame, SkyRide overhead.

The old fashioned carnival swing and ferris wheel split the frame with an arc of swingers between.

You realize the cartoon frog ISN'T the absurd element. It only illuminates the actual ridiculousness going on.

A couple swans with a group of cygnets pass on the new river at a leisurely pace. On the far, reed clustered bank, a woman walks along a path as a boy looks into the water from a bridge. Beyond, there is a bare field and large industrial cranes and earth moving equipment.

A yellow sign at a new playground reads “caution: surfaces may be slippery”.

A small, brown rabbit sniffs some growing plants.

The new river flows to the harbour under a modern white and yellow bridge. To the left of the mouth are concrete silos and, on the right, the shrouded Atlas Crane as it is being restored to be included as a park fixture.
