Intrusive, intense, and annoying. she/her
Then you get to this comment on the video, which I think demonstrates why literacy is so important.

The commenter operates from the assumption that the teacher is suggesting certain novels solely because of the non-white identities of the authors.

The teacher, notably, never says that.

This is an admission that the press is so corrupt, they can't be trusted to cover the Epstein files, and in fact, AREN'T covering the Epstein files because a whole fucking lot of them have shit to hide.
February 5, 2026 at 7:41 PM
PBS makes this wild claim that Trump is not indicated in sex abuse or trafficking, despite the fact that there is at least one reference in the Epstein files to parties at Mar-a-Lago where Epstein brought in girls Trump then fingered and auctioned off to attendees.

This is the top WSJ.com search result on "trump epstein". 😒

In case you weren't aware of what Trump voters thought based on what conservative news and conservative social media scream 24/7, and what your MAGA relatives, neighbors, and coworkers won't stop parroting, here is NPR, reminding you whose voices REALLY matter.

I had to triple check that all these statements came from *that* Bill Kristol. Surreal times we are living in.

The House votes make it even clearer. It wasn't the right who objected to the formation of DHS.
January 18, 2026 at 3:41 PM
The only way to buy into the idea that no one was worried until now that DHS could become what it is, is to ignore the furor around the Patriot Act and FISA in the 00s. Given media and politicians' propensity to ignore the left, I guess it's not surprising they've memory holed all of that pushback.

Or just uncritically posting all of this BS from Stewart Baker.

Reluctance to enforce immigration laws, where? Obama and Biden both set records for deportations, Biden outstripping Trump's first term.

And regular immigration law enforcement isn't what people are protesting today.

1) Emily Oster is an economist, not a dietitian.

2) In a country where the #1 cause of death is heart disease, and where >10% of adults have high LDL cholesterol, putting sources high in saturated fats at the top of your pyramid--and not including a single bean/legume as a protein--is bad advice.

Every time I see something about 30-50 million barrels of oil, I can't help but think about this classic.

When Republicans and CBS News talk about "elites", they're referring to middle class academics and bureaucrats and Democratic voters generally, not dudes like this who stay in the revolving door between private industry and government, ensuring corporate interests always come out on top.

I love when someone answers their own question with a demonstration.

What is wrong with people?
January 1, 2026 at 2:06 AM
I'm not saying this guy is lying about voting for Kamala Harris, but I do have questions about someone who has consistently and exclusively donated to Republicans since 2020 claiming they voted for a Democrat the same year they sent money to WinRed.

The problem is, in fact, the opposite: we've spent decades sheltering the rich and powerful from the consequences of their illegal, harmful behavior and actively enabling corruption in the government, which is why a subset of people now think open criminality in public officials is fine.
December 23, 2025 at 1:56 PM
This guy is supposed to be the hope of the Democratic party? 🥴

First, there's the fact that MIL is low-key bristling that her son and DIL's family traditions at the holidays differ from her own. "They didn't even have a blessing at the meal!" as if this is some necessary part of all Christmas celebrations, and not her and her natal family's personal tradition.

This letter from a religious woman who is salty her DIL is an atheist, seems to think DIL is the only reason her grandchild is being raised without religion, and wants to impose her faith on her grandchild, is an excellent representation of MILs being a problem.

This was originally posted by @pauljholden.com. There were questions in the post and in the replies about whether this would have been less expensive than a production w/ real locations and people, and having worked in advertising, my guess is yes.

Let's discuss.

One thing I want to acknowledge is how accurate this bit--about "mental health deserts"--is. My youngest spent nearly 2 years on a wait list to get in to see a developmental pediatrician, because in Austin--the 13th most populous city in the country--only has a few, and they serve ALL of central TX.

The flip side to this is that more than half of parents of ADHD kids *don't* immediately start medicating their kids, and often it can take *years* even to get a doctor to prescribe any kind of medication, and often they will be started on non-stimulant medication, especially if the child is AFAB.
November 20, 2025 at 1:44 PM
Kids on ADHD meds couldn't possibly be ending up on other psychiatric meds because it's psychologically damaging to live in a world that not only isn't built for you, but also is actively hostile to you and shames you for being the way you are on a daily basis, right? 🙄

It never ceases to amaze me the way women go on Reddit, describe their male partners behaving in monstrous, evil ways, and then are like, "Was I unreasonable? How do I fix this?"

Ma'am, he starved your dog then cussed you out when you were mad about it. You cannot and should not try to fix this.
