Reminder that after 9/11, the FBI tried to infiltrate mosques and kept running into the problem that people at the mosque would call them up going "this guy is being shady as hell, he keeps talking about blowing stuff up, you gotta look into him"

And that shady guy was *always* a fed.

Romance for Minnesota
*Because the Romance Community Stands Up We are appalled (though sadly not surprised) by the aggressive, violent, and deadly actions of ICE, at the behest of the Trump administration, in Minnesota …

Also for those who want to talk about affordability more than anything else, your compromise is that ICE has $85 billion now. All of that money could go to people who need it!
Abolishing ICE is polling well and even polls positively with some Republicans at the moment. It could absolutely be a motivating and winning midterm issue that could flip control. Giving up before things even really start is a sure-fire way to keep people home.

To be clear, 3 of these are just requiring DHS to follow existing laws they should already be following.
Dems coalescing around 5 restrictions on ICE, I'm told:

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

"That package unites a lot of Dems," Sen Chris Murphy tells me on the pod:

As Trump scrambles to contain the damage from the latest ICE horrors, Senator Chris Murphy offers a sharp indictment of Trump-ICE lawlessness—and explains how Dems can meet the urgency of the moment.

I think @sarahjeong.bsky.social said it's because they devalue women's labor and a LOT of this Scary Logistics stuff comes from people who don't understand that basically all of the civic life they enjoy is created with the help of free labor, largely by women.
Tho I will say, in his defense, he's not the first person to be confused by how quickly the romance authors & readers can whip up finely tuned logistics out of nothing. 😂
I mostly just stay off Twitter altogether but after double checking that the Walter Hudson post was still up I ran across this and just had to share so the Romancelandians who bought hand warmers could hear about the PROFESSIONAL GRADE LOGISTICS.

This is something happening behind the scenes that people in and outside the U.S. don't see imo...this and how widespread the protests are. Also, there are so many people preparing to run for political positions who never would have considered it outside of a crisis.

Backing Kristi Noem’s impeachment is the bare minimum.

Holding law-breaking ICE agents legally accountable is the bare minimum.

THREAD: 404 Media has been covering ICE and the technology they've been using to surveil and raid "targets", detain people based on a flawed facial recognition app, and lie about violence on the streets.

They have established itself as an agency that cannot be trusted to live in or present reality.

This is a lie!!!! They destroyed evidence! A “system crash” doesn’t cause data to be deleted
And what is happening inside ICE detention centers? 404 Media also learned that the federal government claimed that the day after it was sued for allegedly abusing detainees at an ICE detention center, a “system crash” deleted nearly two weeks of surveillance footage from inside the facility.

The government also said "we don't have resources" to retain all footage and that plaintiffs could supply "endless hard drives that we could save things to."

This is the core reason why all the Tim Pool types swung right after Occupy, by the way.

There were about ten seconds where you could pull a little cash grifting from the left position, then it all dried up and they went where the money was
The fact that every right winger with influence screams "who is paying for all of this" tells you exactly how awash in cash they all are, and how much they rely on that to keep their movement afloat.
James O'Keefe says he's never seen anything so organized as the anti-ICE movement, observers--he seems to think this term is code--everywhere he goes. Who is paying for it??? he demands to know. It's like he can't even imagine people caring for one another.
