Hey, thanks, Ron. Yes, the book (written with tax prof Neil Brooks) explains how a modest wealth tax on ultra-wealthy Canadians could raise billions a year, and make this a much more equal country. If billionaires chose to leave, they'd face a hefty exit tax. #canlab

Comics can't make jokes, journalists can't report on... skinny people riding bicycles? Censorship of free speech is out of control in every corner of the world, it seems

True Colors by @elisegravel.bsky.social trans. Montana Kane is a totally tubular time capsule of growing up in the early 1990s filled with colourful hobbies, true-blue friends and undiagnosed ADHD. Here’s my ⭐ @quillandquire.bsky.social #bookreview: bit.ly/46biqGm 📚👍 #KidLit @dandq.bsky.social
The cover of True Colors: Growing up Weird in the 90s by Elise Gravel resembles a page from a lined notebook. A dark haired teen is sitting on the floor writing in her journal surrounded by a skateboard, board games, telephone and books.

Why is it so hard for Ontario's premier as well as every mayor of municipalities in Greater Toronto to replicate what Montreal is doing? I'm not Copenhagen... does not apply, it's in Canada, around the corner. #JustDoIt. SAFE bike lane networks, connectivity. Plus fast public transit.

Is there anything better than a project that improves transit and cycling?

Montreal’s sustainable mobility corridors (“corridors de mobilité durable”), like here on Henri-Bourassa, are transforming arterial roads with bus lanes *and* protected bike lanes at the same time.

They were everywhere when I was a kid in the 60s & 70s. Very basic, utilitarian structures made with cinder block but easily cleaned and they did the trick. Something I wouldn't complain about my tax dollars going towards.

Mother Earth is watching. Don't be complicit.

In a small town in County Cork, Ireland, a monument stands in appreciation to the American Choctaw Indian Tribe.
Although impoverished, shortly after being forced to walk the Trail of Tears, the tribe somehow gathered $170 to send to Ireland for famine relief in 1847 [Historic Vids]

In Amelia Bothe's arresting picture-book debut, a young girl grapples with guilt over surreptitiously taking something that isn't hers. Here's my ⭐ Booklist review: www.booklistonline.com/products/981... #KidLit

Magazine cover featuring an illustration of a man and a woman riding a tandem bike up a hill. The man, who is in front, appears to be scowling as the woman applies makeup behind.
