From North Warwickshire and Bedworth to Ukraine. 1500 miles. 3 ambulances. Desperately needed supplies.

It was an honour to be asked to drive a retired ambulance full of aid across Europe to the Ukrainian border by local business LKQ Euro Car Parts, as part of their enormous fundraising appeal.

Earlier today Farage came on TV to make a *£50 billion* unfunded spending commitment, but BBC write-up completely ignores that and focuses on some deep state nonsense conspiracy theory he was peddling instead.

Reform UK councillors obstructed by officials, Nigel Farage says
The Reform leader tells the BBC his councillors are being "hamstrung" by existing bureaucracies.

It's about time someone took Reform to task for what they do, and not just what they say. @bbclaurak.bsky.social

“In your letter you appear not to understand that during these allocation rounds companies sign contracts with the Low Carbon Contracts Company, not the UK Government directly….
Can you confirm if it is Reform UK policy to rip up contract law?”

I think I love Polly Billington.

Labour's Polly Billington MP responds to Reform's letter:

"Reform UK can't just go around writing unhinged letters threatening investors with reprisals for growing our green economy and creating good, well-paid jobs. Here's my response and the questions they need to answer - signed by 58 Lab MPs."
Here is the full transcription of the letter:POLLY BILLINGTON MP Member of Parliament for East Thanet House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA18 July 2025Dear Richard,We are writing to you regarding a recent letter you posted on social media, threatening private companies that want to invest in British jobs and clean, homegrown renewable energy.¹As MPs who are already seeing the benefits of the green transition in our own communities, we feel duty bound to write to you to seek clarification on a number of points you have raised.Firstly, we are concerned that you have underappreciated the growth potential of the green transition currently being overseen by our Labour government. Last year the clean energy economy grew by more than 10% - three times higher than the economic average - and now generates £83.1 billion in Gross Value Added for Britain.² When you made these threats, were you aware you were threatening one of Britain's strongest drivers of growth? In fact, the Confederation of British Industry has confirmed that the green economy is a major driver of growth outside of London and the South East, with a recent report stating 'the widespread distribution of green jobs and investment underscores the sector's role in levelling up the UK economy'.³ Do you consider the Confederation of British Industry to be part of the 'unquestioned liberal progressive orthodoxy' that you described in your letter? You may also be aware that the CBI estimates that green industry supports 951,000 jobs across the UK, with wages in the sector 15% higher than the UK average. When you made these threats, were you aware you were threatening well-paid British jobs? The new Reform UK Mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire, Luke Campbell, has said he is supportive of green jobs and investment in the area he represents, and today Campbell and Andrea Jenkyns have accepted government funding for clean power projects in their areas.⁴ Will you be taking action against them for going against your party's opposi… In pic 1

Local Labour MP Rachel Taylor MP responds to news Reform is proposing an 18-year-old to lead Warwickshire County Council
"I am deeply concerned to learn that Reform in Warwickshire is proposing that an eighteen-year-old with no previous work experience should be running our County Council. I have met George Finch and know him to be a charismatic and ambitious young man, but my constituents need someone with a proven track record to fix our potholed roads, special education services, and social care system.

Reform does not have a majority in Warwickshire, meaning the Conservatives have the power to vote this down. I would ask them to reflect on whether they are willing to blindly rubber stamp what is clearly an inappropriate appointment.”
