What, exactly, are we celebrating tomorrow?

Our cutting off healthcare to the needy to enrich the greedy?

Our new concentration camps?

Our dying economy?

Our ditching due process?

Our corruption?

Our broken legislature?

Our corrupt SCOTUS?

Our ridiculous buffoon president? #FourthOfJuly

The Guardian broke the story about excessive surveillance on U Michigan’s campus (thousands of surveillance cameras, undercover cops trailing students, drones over public squares).

U-M regents approved spending for cops/cameras and ignored our complaint in the May Faculty Governance report.

Congratulations on your well-deserved promotion to Professor, Dr. Thomas!

We're so fortunate to have you in the Marsal School! 💙💛

At yesterday’s University of Michigan Regents meeting, I was promoted to full professor, effective July 1. 🎆

Full professor is the highest rank in US academia. 26% of faculty are full. Among those, 4% are Black; 2% BW.

Started my PhD 20 years ago this fall. What a journey! A fantastic voyage.

Today's motherscholar life looks like submitting my R&R from the bleachers at the field hockey facility on campus since kiddo had practice & I had uninterrupted time to work outside. The beautiful weather was perfect for polishing off & sending in this manuscript! 🏑☀️👩🏻‍💻 #AcademicSky #academicparent

Santa Ono says he “declined to politicize the institution.”

While Pres of UM, he:

1. Cancelled the student vote about BDS because he personally disagrees with boycotts of Israel.
2. Prosecuted peaceful pro-Palestinian student protesters.
3. Fired a staff member at the bequest of the ADL.

🚨 Practical URGENT tip for NSF grantees:

Out of an abundance of caution, I would right now go into Research.gov and…

1. Download your NSF award letters.

2. Print PDF your annual reports.

3. Screenshot the status table for annual reports.

NSF is planning maintenance tomorrow to Research.gov
Due to maintenance, Research.gov (including access to NSF-PAR, GRFP, PES, and ETAP) will be unavailable from Fri., 4/25 at 10:00 PM ET to Sat., 4/26 at 1:00 PM ET. NSF apologizes for any inconvenience.
