I’m pretty much melded to the Apple Watch Ultra 2 in orange but if I wasn’t, I’d have one of those as a novelty watch. The colours are splendid on the wrist.

“Googy-egg” is always great to deploy to someone’s face because it makes them feel like a child. “Aw having some googies and some soldiers? My mum made me that when I was 4 too. Ok see you at the board meeting.”

And a fear of neighbours that never recovered from the civil war.

By the way, we should bring back “malady”. I have ITP and it’s not a “disease” in the way we conceptualise disease now. I just bruise a lot more and bleed a lot more than most people. It’s not a disease or a disability; I just steer clear of coffee tables and such.

The United States is a polity fundamentally based upon the idea that one day you will be called upon to kill your neighbour through necessity. It’s basically “Old Yeller” with nukes. Nurses aren’t immune.

I think the important thing is to not talk about things when things are happening. We should never talk about things.

Surgery is always fun. When someone with a scalpel sees a note that you either will clot normally or maybe won’t (it’s a surprise!) you can see in their brows them mentally shifting their tee-off time.

It’s honestly such a weird malady. My entire life has been people saying “what the hell happened to you” and pointing at a bruise I didn’t even know I had.
