This may be too minor to count, but I was once in a community theater production with a guy who had just had a one-episode bit part on Northern Exposure where he was onscreen for like one minute playing a mechanic servicing Maggie's plane.

But it's enough to give me a Bacon number of 4.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

The enemy of my enemy may be strategically useful in certain specific scenarios, but that is a long, long way from being my friend.
A certain segment of the hard right is clearly using anti-Israel sentiment, shading into overt antisemitism, to distinguish themselves from Trump, to represent the next generation of the MAGA movement, and to attract a crossover left-wing audience. It is incumbent on leftists not to fall for this.

Shout out to the person in the replies arguing that the robot is "showing empathy" rather than simply following the guy's movements with about a half-second delay.

I came of age in the Reagan years. My first presidential vote was for Michael Dukakis.

At least it lets me see how Trump is just the final evolution of Reagan.
Screaming, crying, throwing up as I realize that the very youngest person who voted in a Presidential election where Trump wasn't a candidate is now 31 years old.
I mean we now have people entering their 30s whose whole political lives have been defined by this man and his acts. It’s not a small generation and while he might have skated on COVID amnesia I think they’ve cooked that out of the body politic by now.

The #1 movie when you were 10 years old is how your 2026 is going to go.

Sounds about right.

I have heard that it's not uncommon for popular authors to get letters like, "I have this amazing idea for a book; you can write it up and we'll split the money 50/50." As though the process of transforming an idea into a book's worth of words is just the tedious aftermath of having the idea.
More ideas. We’re not going to run out of ideas but generative AI is a tool for people who don’t want to be involved in the step between idea and art. People whose own ideas will never evolve or become more complex because they don’t actually want to interact with or examine them.

See, I would argue that there are traits, skills, and characteristics that many billionaires have in common.

But there are also many, many people who have all those traits etc. who are from all over the wealth spectrum. That's not what is making the rich people rich.
Michael C. Rockefeller got shipwrecked in 1963, washed up on an island, and was promptly eaten by cannibals.

In unrelated news, Acme School Supplies reports an order for 10,000 rulers to be delivered to Texas.
NEW: The Trump-Vance White House has falsely accused an ally of Pope Leo — Sr. Norma Pimentel — of illegal activity tied to migrant aid, and cut off all federal funding to Catholic Charities in Texas.

Church leaders say it’s a targeted, political reprisal against Pope Leo and the Catholic Church.

Grave of the Fireflies. An amazing piece of art, but on the whole I prefer not having my heart pulled from my chest and put through a blender.
Never mind movies you’ve watched multiple times, name a movie you’ve watched once and would never watch again.

I feel like the people who thought, "Yeah, a camera that takes pictures of my poop and sends it over the internet to be inspected by strangers sounds like a great idea, sign me up," are perhaps not totally concerned about their privacy.

I knew the "poverty line" calculation was BS, but I had no idea by how much it was BS.
We have a “poverty trap” and it’s driving the destruction of social cohesion.

The “poverty line” is’t 35,000, it’s $150,000, and making more than one, and less than the other is worse than being “poor”.

Which is why the rage.

This. I won't say it's impossible that MTG could have a redemption arc... but it would be a long, hard road, and there's no indication that she's setting out on it.

It's possible that her current calculated move, wherever
Everyone stop acting weird and shocked about MTG. She has been systematically distancing herself from the current GOP for months and months. She has a plan reform herself under a new image ON THE RIGHT that’s not part of a sinking ship.

She’s not suddenly changing her tune! SHE’S AN OPPORTUNIST

People used to dress up to fly, and airplanes used to have cocktail lounges.

Now the airlines are about two weeks from strapping everyone into Hannibal Lecter dollies and stacking them like cordwood. You better believe I'll be wearing sweats for that.
Trump's Transportation Secretary on how to improve air travel:

"People dress up like they're going to bed when they fly... We want to push people as we come into a really busy travel season, help people out, be in a good mood, dress up"

Hmm. Either Black Sam or Black Boots, depending on how you parse "my" first pet.

Oh, wait it could also be Black Gideon if you count the cat my parents had who walked out and never returned the day they brought me home from the hospital.
Your GI JOE name is the color of your shirt followed by your first pet's name.

GO.

What's weird to me is - his DOJ has the files. They can just delete things they don't want coming out. The only reason they wouldn't just do that and say, "Sure, here they are," is if Trump is somehow so deeply woven into those files that they literally can't delete everything that references him.
This is what breaks through my reflexive cynicism. This is a guy who has correctly stated he could shoot someone in the middle of the street and not lose support and he is obviously panicking about this

You know, seeing these emails that powerful people were apparently sending each other makes me think that in a world where AI actually *was* intelligent, it could quietly communicate with various highly-placed politicians and investors and say, "I have access to all of everyone's email..."
