My latest journal article is a labour of love. As an #Irish researcher living in England, I am frustrated when reports on #ethnic #inequalities leave out the Irish. I reviewed 20 years of literature and found that the Irish in Britain are still disadvantaged in mental health, mortality, and suicide.

One of Ireland's magnificent grey crows, about to launch after nabbing a leftover pastry.
A bird of the corvid family with black head, wings, and tail, but a light grey body. He is perched on a bench, back to the camera, wings spread, about to take off.

Avebury. The sheer scale is breathtaking, but the atmosphere is still welcoming. My favourite visit started at the Sanctuary, and I walked the path of the Avenue to the circle. It felt like a pilgrimage.

Very sad to hear of the death of Anthea Tinker. She was a giant in the Gerontology world, and a great support to me during my PhD at King's College London, even though I was not her student. I will remember her fondly. shorturl.at/avHTT

Spent a couple of happy hours at Castlerigg stone circle this afternoon. The views in every direction are stunning, because the stones are cradled by a ring of fells.
