Movies use the trope where clueless protagonist gets saved from bad guys (or girls) by previously unknown hero - setting up duo and often romantic arc. See Terminator, Argyle etc

But any scenarios where the “hero” is also bad guy and uses situation to become trusted for deeper motive?

Avatar: Fire & Ash is an odd film.

Technically it’s amazing, especially in IMAX 3D.
But… apart from one aspect it’s a retread of story beats from the first two films - especially the climax which gives the sense of “why?”. The over 3 hour run-time does no favours either, these aren’t LOTR films

It’s like you need a reference source of curated information that’s not been through a LLM

Of all the crap use cases for LLM AI, medical advice has to be one of the crappiest. Why would you trust Sam Altman with your medical records?

ChatGPT Health lets you connect medical records to an AI that makes things up
New feature will allow users to link medical and wellness records to AI chatbot.

The world is pretty messed up, but I did manage to order a gift off Etsy that was delivered from Poland to NZ in time for Christmas - so I’ll take a small win!

Here’s the seller:

This Christmas remember, wrapping individual Lego pieces exponentially increases the number of gifts you can give.

Also works for jigsaw puzzles and stationery sets.

Having just watched both Home Alones 1 & 2; I, as with many other internet peeps, mused on the criminal undertakings of one Kevin McCallister - psychopath extraordinaire.

He progresses from minor shoplifting in HA1 to attempted premeditated murd3r in HA2!

Microsoft: “We’ve embedded AI into everything you do”

Everyone: “Hey that’s cool but could you instead fix Word tables, remember language preferences, kill the intrusive ads, and you know just align the UX of all your products?”

Microsoft: “Best we can do is totally screw Task Manager performance”
