Alien intelligence alt. Punching fish-Nazis & not giving a fuck since 2004.
Edgelords, MAGAts, & other bigots & fuckwits bitten in half.
I volunteer to bite their heads off

It will save you money
I just hope this reboot of “Let them eat cake” has the same ending. I hate when reboots stray from the source material.

Hoping for a punching match between Senators who understand tech & those who think every site is the same

The ones who don't understand tech are older

And punching solves a lot of things
I wrote section 230 to protect the little guys and the upstarts like Bluesky. Repealing section 230 only helps Meta, Musk, and Donald Trump.

These fishface liars are begging for a punch

OTOH biting in them in half would help more people
We have always relied on the oil and gas industry to self-report methane emissions. Now we have independent ways to of measuring those emissions and it turns out they were lying about the emissions. By a lot. The blue lines are actual measurements. The pink are industry numbers.

OCTOPUNCH! All in one post for the first time, my twelve-panel comic extravaganza inspired by this research on octopuses punching their piscine hunting partners: www.nature.com/articles/s41...
If not the pinnacle of my #SciComm career, it's at least a local maximum

I’d like to start a thread for downloadable resources that could be in danger next year.

I know someone mentioned stuff from PBS, but if you can think of anything else we need to download asap: share it here!

Look I’m just a girl with a PhD and some data who testifies to legislative committees full of men who tell me CO2 is plant food and the climate’s always changing and now you want me to stand up for pasteurized milk, Darwin, and the germ theory of disease? Sure. But you’re gonna need more biologists.

RFKs plan to eliminate pesticides and genetically modified foods without viable alternatives would precipitate massive crop failures and cause global food shortages.

While it's preferable not to use gmos and pesticides, we would not be able to produce cheap grain at current scale without them.

Emerged from the abyssal depth to hunt Nazis and MAGAs. Heard there were a bunch moving here from the bird place. Punching fish got too easy and I don't like birds. The feathers get stuck in my radula.

So are we going to start having a conversation about what may be about to happen to resourcing for USA libraries, archives, and museums, if the federal cuts go ahead...? And which ones are obviously most likely to be targeted? and what we can do in advance of January to support? data lifeboats?
