Trump and Noem’s tactics:

Deploy troops to cities where there are peaceful protestors. Throw smoke grenades and shoot rubber bullets in crowd. Start pushing. And start the cameras rolling.

That’s the war zones they’re creating. And MSM should be clarifying that.

Airports are experiencing massive staffing shortages because of the Trump shutdown.

House Republicans remain on vacation.

Get back to work so we can reopen the government!

Check out @grahamformaine.bsky.social. He looks like a fantastic choice for Mainers!

He’s on the move to meet with as many folks as he can. One day. Five hundred miles. Three town halls in small town Maine. Four hundred people.

He vows not to leave a person or place behind.

I'm on the slowest bus line in the city with the slowest buses in the nation to talk to New Yorkers about what it would mean for their lives if we made them fast and free.
Zohran sits on a bus talking to a rider sitting behind him.

What began as a routine investigation became a propaganda gift...proof that caution without courage is a weapon aimed at yourself. Arctic Frost isn’t the scandal...it’s the mirror.👇

Pelosi: "Democrats who created Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the ACA, all of that, are now being asked to reject that so we can give a tax cut to the rich. We're not doing it. It isn't a question of, 'let's come back together so we can discuss it.' That isn't going to happen."

Gov. Josh Shapiro: "I respect the Canadian people and Canada's sovereignty... When POTUS bullies Canada, threatens to make them the 51st state, belittles them, undermines their sovereignty, that undermines the interests of our farmers and the people who work in our factories."

I can’t believe I have to say this, but historically, masked men who kidnap families in the middle of the night are usually not the good guys.

Trump sending Texans to Chicago as Winter approaches is like Napolean (and Hitler) marching on Moscow.

More Democrats need to follow JB Pritzker's lead and directly confront MAGA's ongoing campaign to crush our democracy. It's not a time for any Democratic politician to hide in their office making fundraising calls. Get your ass out there. Denounce the fascists. Be loud.

I will not back down.

Trump is now calling for the arrest of elected representatives checking his power.

What else is left on the path to full-blown authoritarianism?

The elimination of USAID is a moral atrocity and all involved made a choice to enable, and then lie about, ending the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
MAE SOT, Thailand (AP) - Mohammed Taher clutched the lifeless body of his 2-year-old son and wept. Ever since his family's food rations stopped arriving at their internment camp in Myanmar in April, the father had watched helplessly as his once-vibrant baby boy weakened, suffering from diarrhea and begging for food.
On May 21, exactly two weeks after Taher's little boy died, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sat before Congress and declared: "No one has died" because of his government's decision to gut its foreign aid program. Rubio also insisted: "No children are dying on my watch."
That, Taher says, "is a lie."

We’re not dealing with brilliant strategists cleverly laying traps, we’re dealing with impulsive whiners whose advantage is contempt for laws, norms, and morality.

They’re not pulling some elaborate trick, they’re just willing—even eager—to do things regular, principled people consider off limits.

Catherine Dior – WWII spy and hero

Long before she was the muse for "Miss Dior," she was "Caroline," a code name whispered in secrecy. In 1941 she joined a powerful Resistance network dedicated to gathering intelligence on German troop movements and weaponry, and transformed her brother Christian's apartment into a sanctuary for clandestine meetings.

In the summer of 1944, the Gestapo found her, and tortured her to extract the names of her fellow resistors. She endured, and she protected them. Her punishment was deportation. She was one of 543 women crammed into a train bound for the Ravensbrück concentration camp where she was assigned her a new identity: number 57813. When liberation finally came in 1945, the woman who returned was a ghost of her former self.

After the war in 1947, her brother, Christian, created his first perfume, naming it "Miss Dior" for her, a living monument to the sister he had almost lost. The scent was not a reflection of the war, but a celebration of the life and resilience she embodied—a bold, green fragrance, vibrant and full of hope, much like Catherine herself.

Catherine played a major role in preserving her brother Christian’s legacy, becoming honorary president of the Musée Christian-Dior in Granville. She was decorated with multiple honors for her wartime bravery, including the Croix de Guerre and France’s Legion of Honour.

Catherine passed away on June 17, 2008, at age 90
