Migrated from the hell hole and found it much better for my mental health here. I live a quiet retired life in rural Suffolk, UK with Himself who is finally working part-time in the wind down to retirement, 12 yr old arthritic dog, 2 cats and 6 chickens.

Not sure I could face that for breakfast, especially the mashed potato which I'm not a huge fan of anyway but sounds an ideal lunch.

Morning. Bit of a grey day here though the Met forecast sun later so hopefully we can get a bit more solar electricity than yesterday. OH still suffering with the bug I've passed on to him but I'm now well over the worst of it and reaction to flu + pneumonia jabs. Phew. Must do some food shopping.

And spent a fortune of tax payers money on an over the top, Coronation despite saying when the heir that his would be a frugal and scaled down monarchy. Yeah right.

Trump pressure to hike UK drug prices could cost NHS billions.

Corporate profits will increase. NHS budget will buy less. People to pay higher taxes or face public service cuts.

To avoid bullying UK Govt must produce cheaper generic drugs.

Who governs UK - Govt, Trump, Corporations?

“The UK government is proposing to pay up to 25 per cent more for drugs bought by the NHS as it tries to save the sector from President Trump’s tariffs and stop pharmaceutical companies from abandoning investments in the country.”

All this sovereignty is making me giddy…

I always fancied being the moody cool girl singer fronting an otherwise male group. Like this lot. Strong female role models all for my generation.
Female lead singers from 70s/80s groups - Debbie Harry, Viv Albertine, Siouxie, Chrissie Hind, Poly Styrene and Pauline Black

Life long Labour supporter but it serves this country ill to have such a pathetic Tory party. Brexit spread like a cancer ridding the party of decency, integrity and intelligence leaving a lying detritus. Maggie would be turning in the grave (assuming of course the stake doesn’t stop her)

The UAE is an authoritarian autocracy, a petro-state with no income tax for citizens, to bribe them for the lack of democratic voice or free speech

It is 85% migrant, a segregated society with a ban on integration in principle and practice, few rights, equal opportunities, nor voice for incomers

Crazy, isn’t it?
Whereas, if we’d (where we = the developed world) installed filters/uv in all public spaces, and routinely masked in healthcare settings, not to mention continued to vaccinate everyone, the whole Covid thing might be pretty much behind us now
- and we’d have a lot fewer colds!

Ha ha. And there's no spell check at this excuse for a rag either. That or its so called journalists don't know the difference between a principal and a principle!

Um, ICE just coldly shot an unarmed PRIEST in the head w a pepper ball when he (and everyone around him) clearly posed no threat.

For the crime of … complaining about government policy.

Morning. OH left at 5am for site meeting at Addenbrooke's. Hope he'll be ok as he's full of the bug. Still at least he'll be at hospital already if not! Been joined by 🐶 and one 😺 but Minnie has only just showed up. Had first cuppa. Feeling lots better but will give Zumba a miss. Chiropractor later.

I'm not sure I'm up to digging a temporary grave for any casualties any more. It's been hard enough work when I've tried burying one of my deceased chickens! Mind you at my age I'm more likely to be one of the casualties 😢

It comes to something when you actually see the likes of Heseltine and think now that's a proper Conservative. We knew where we were with these old style ones. Didn't agree with their politics but knew that they did have some honour and were doing what they thought was right for the country.

And they want to do away with anthropology which is literally the study of human societies and their cultures and their development. Future anthropology students in other countries will study the fall of British society and tracing it back to her Tory Party.

Ha ha. Nice try at giving me nightmares 😅 My first job included looking after our Council's War-time Plan (Cold War days) and I used to go on training exercises with the military and emergency services. Had the copies of Protect and Survive ready to dish out 😵‍💫 Thought we were way past that but .....

So sorry Ness. Life is being a bitch to you at the moment. Hopefully only delayed by a short amount of time and till your body is strong enough to give it the best chance for a good outcome. Sending lots of virtual hugs.
