This morning I read the article from @irishtimes.com and rang & wrote to them to ask for a correction. They corrected the headline, and the article author @conorpope.bsky.social wrote back to confirm that it had changed. I opened up the app this evening and it’s wrong again.

This is not harmless by the way - I don't have a heat pump (yet) so I assumed this warning didn't apply to me. But I have had a new circulation pump installed in past 8 years. The effectiveness of this recall will be directly impacted by shoddy media reporting.

Apparantly I'm from the 'cringe generation' (Millennials). My 20 yr old stepdaughter said

"How?"

"You just are."

Well Gen Z : let me tell you how we grew up

emotionally neglected as kids left to fend for ourselves We did paper rounds in the dark Washed cars for £1.50 Went out for hours with no phones

We earnt £2-3 p/hour (£5 if you were lucky)

Studying AND held jobs

We didn't drink matcha Lattes we drank hooch/ vodka and lambrini

We're not afraid of hard work "graft" Getting our hands dirty

Bit of trauma at times but we turned out alright in the end?!

MORE than alright cos we're strong driven women 6

(we didn't need anyone then - we don't need anyone now era that were all doing the deep work on

I'm yet to find out why I'm cringe

But this "cringe generation" always knows how to get back up and handle life.

The Luas came into operation in 2004, Garret died in 2011. Maybe you're referring to the decision not to join the red and green lines initially? I don't think he can take all the blame for that, although he did contribute some poorly-informed commentary (along with others)

Interesting feedback from my teenagers going into second year of school #phoneban. They never objected to the ban itself but say all the rules/admin/enforcement around it have made school feel less fun.
