also, while “make it bad, perfect it later” is perfectly sound advice, I will go a step further and say it’s rarely as bad as you think and perfect does not exist. you will know contentment when you feel it. creation is like trying on clothes. your fit, your style will start to fit right over time!

most importantly, have fun. if you genuinely hate drawing, you don’t have to do it. suffering is not part of the package. being frustrated can be, but if it provides you no joy, you can and should stop at any time.

use the lasso tool. learn quality over quantity. learn the foundations of art not only for your benefit but so that you have the language to compliment your fellow artists beyond “looks cool.” tutorials are nice, but nothing beats drawing from life. look at people, look at things. then stylize.
