I read all of Rand’s books while I was a homeless teenager, living in a cave, because I found the Ayn Rand Institute’s college scholarship application. I wrote an essay in my cave about how altruism was my true calling. Needless to say, I didn’t get the scholarship

It was mostly based on future speculation about groundbreaking GMO research in the mid 90s to make tomatoes more frost resistant with flounder or salmon genes. So for class I wrote about the ethics of not disclosing animal GMO plant products for kosher / halal / Jain / vegetarian etc shoppers
