“If your mask works why do I need one?”

We know two way masking works best.

We know there are people with disabilities that are unable to mask.

We know people may need to drink or take meds & need others protecting them.

Also, if you mask you’re protecting your own health. Why not do that?

Why does “learning to live with covid” mean accepting repeat infections as inevitable?

Why does it mean throwing the vulnerable to the wayside, unsafe healthcare & mass disability?

That’s not “living with it”. That’s giving up

We need to adapt. Clean air, paid time off, masks in healthcare.

People continue to act like disabled & covid caution folks want to return to lockdowns. We don’t.

We want clean air in public spaces. Paid time off. Better access to testing. Free respirators and mandatory masking in healthcare.

Those steps would drastically reduce spread.

When someone dies of a disease like Covid or measles, the first question is often “did they have any pre-existing conditions?”

People want to blame the victim. They want to believe they were vulnerable & therefore expendable.

No one is expendable. Demand better from governments & public health.

Every year, tens of thousands of people go to the hospital for help — and end up catching infections that cost them their lives.
We have the tools that could stop so much of that pain and loss.
It's time to talk about why we need permanent mask mandates in healthcare

“So, what do you have?”

If you’re a patient with complex chronic illness, that’s not an easy answer.

Many conditions tend to travel in packs.

These intricate webs of interconnected symptoms and diagnoses challenge both patients and healthcare providers.

Most measles cases are in the unvaccinated, but full vaccination is ~97% effective—not 100%. The more exposure, the higher the risk.

In Ontario, almost all with measles are unvaccinated (pink), but some aged 20-39 had 2+ doses (dark blue).

Immunity is a team effort.

Good summary of evidence about the bird flu strain recently found in cattle.

It's concerning because this is the strain associated with death of man in U.S. and severe illness in B.C. teenager.

Adaptation to cattle (mammals) is concerning.
