The 10th Kingdom ran so OUAT could stumble

Looking up the Vancouver calendar, I don't get who it's even for. It's not going to appeal to straight men, it doesn't feel suited for the straight female gaze either (nor any other gays), and it doesn't really seem like it would interest the bis, so...

I thought it was a lot better than the old one. Not exactly timely or original, but it got a few chuckles out of me.

Studio Ghibli has produced some of the highest-grossing Japanese films of all time. They absolutely have the resources to train, take risks, and greenlight the passion projects of women directors and screenwriters.

For a studio that bases so many of its films on books by female authors, you'd expect them to value the creativity of women. And yet they have demonstrably been completely uninterested in giving women meaningful opportunities to helm creative projects.

The ~tribal~ aesthetic is also questionable, especially since it's unclear what their ethnic identity actually is.

Definitely one of the best episodes of the season. I love whenever the Senshi unwittingly befriend the villains (see Mimete and Minako). Best trope.
