I feel the whole November/December has been some surreal dark-mode-outside and that's because it HAS. I feel very scattered and would prefer to just hibernate until the sun returns, so this chapter of Djinn's Daughter is slow work. But hey, #WiPWednesday, regardless!
Wip Snippet for my One Piece fanfic Djinn's Daughter, Chapter 13. As usual, it didn't fully fit. Wani knew all that, liked all that, but regardless she was faced with a completely new emotion when she watched the more thorough reading happening: she didn't like it. Doffy was hers. His mind should be open to her, his blood should be on her lips. Hawk wrapped his arms around her, nudged his head against hers, sighed. He touched his tongue to his fang, she did the same to her canine. The united feeling of watching the ritual, smelling the blood in the air — faint for the Tribals, all-pervasive to Hawk — made them feel like a small predator duo watching someone else take their prey. …even when that someone was their mother, so they also felt like cubs waiting for their turn, their growl silent vibration on their skin. Mother flashed a smile at Doffy, took a step back. Doffy was shivering. "I'd like to say that this was unnecessary, but you did make your point and I respect your concerns. You have my blessing for the Oath as you planned it, and I'm looking forward to witnessing it." Doffy nodded slowly, almost a bow. "Thank you, o Djinn, I-" Wani and Hawk pounced him like they were indeed two predators flanking him from both sides, their arms wrapping around the Celestial in unison. Mother blinked, then laughed. "Oh, Precious. You asked me to do this. I would have never touched what is yours otherwise." "I know." She sighed, nipped Doffy's side like she considered taking a bite out of him. "Still feels shitty, yeah? Your mind knows it was smart, but oh how the sight of someone else tasting what's yours makes you seethe. Even when it's just me." She nodded. Hawk scraped a fang over Doffy's skin, just light enough not to draw blood. They still had not tested how horribly wrong that might go, after all.

Oh yeah, #WiPWednesday! This is the most wip of all the wips I've ever posted, I have no schedule planned. I blame @beefbiffboeuf.bsky.social whose Heavenly Pentacle concept sometimes plagues me. Especially the Croc corner, of course. This is DofCrocSan that sometimes writes itself in my wips.
WiP of a future fic for DofCrocSan. The man moved faster than his size implied. From a beast at rest to sudden snap of jaws, or in this case: a hand around his neck to very much the same effect. "You insult me, boy." The fingers pressed to the sides of his neck, didn't crush his windpipes, just held him like a helpless little prey. The thought went straight to his dick. Sanji tried to gasp an explanation out, an excuse, an attempt to pacify, maybe still manage to lure, something, anything. The man shook his head, clicked his tongue, disapproved. "No. I'm going to bring you to your master, tell him he failed, and then I'm out of here." Shit shit shit shit. He was going to bring him to young master, and what would he say, what would- The man stood, the hold around his neck shifted for a moment and now his palm was on the back of his neck as he dragged Sanji along his long, certain strides. He tried to keep up with him, tried not to fall, tried not to panic. "Oh Croccy. Are you poaching my people now? Grew impatient at your mature age?" "You failed. I don't want to know the details of this inane plan of yours, but I will not be seduced by a fucking proxy." The fingers pressed tighter again. Sanji's mind buzzed. "Oh Sanji." Young master tried to sound admonishing, but there was obvious delight in his voice. Excitement. "You are way too inexperienced to play in Sir Crocodile's league. I could have warned you if you had only told me he had caught your interest." "He's not interested in shit, and you know it. This is YOU. Maybe he didn't realize it, maybe you straight ordered it, doesn't matter. I recognize your webs from fucking orbit." "That sounds awfully much like you're insulting yourself instead of me. Why wouldn't a hot-blooded young man approach you? You look like the very epitome of-" "I look like I will hook them in the head if they annoy me, bird." "Yes. The thrill of danger right there. The measure of self-worth wrapped in your acceptance."

My new-chapter ramblings have hit these results! I mean, Dragon would be high up regardless, but Rocks? That's me rambling about the manga. Djinn's Daughter isn't enough on its own for that jump. Croc's on top, naturally. 'n Doffy's just always there, because of course he is.

Summary: Sir Crocodile appears to have been caught and sent to the Tower, the most impregnable prison in the country. He arranged his capture for one reason only: to get to solve the puzzle for Pluton's blueprints hidden beneath the prison. He has everything planned, and his plan is perfect. The only thing he didn't foresee was the young, blond crime lord ruling over the prison deciding that instead of fighting him, he's going to seduce him. Notes: It's DofuWani Day! I do not know why December 2nd is a DofuWani Day, but apparently it is! So a little prison escape / heist fic for them to celebrate. Doffy is 19, Croc is 24. ...somehow it's #WiPWednesday again and the whole week I've had only 1k dialogue of the next chapter of Djinn's Daughter done and then today I went 'there's DofuWani Day coming!' so now there's this thing. It's turning into no-powers steampunk AU jailbreak heist thing, I guess.
WiP snippet for upcoming DofuWani Day fic. "That's Sir Crocodile!" "I didn't know he was caught-" "Do you think someone snitched-" "Who the fuck would even dare-" "Shut up shut up he can hear us-" Crocodile could, in fact, hear them. The whispers grew louder as more voices joined them, radiating around him in shushed waves as the crowd of prisoners hurried to get the fuck out of his way, giving him straight line toward the canteen. The mess hall was where the inevitable drama would happen, best get it out of the way immediately. Besides, with the amount of money he'd poured in to make sure of it: there would be coffee. He ignored the panicked whispers, ignored the crowds parting for him, reached the canteen and accepted the immediately offered huge mug of pitch-black coffee. The commissary on the other side of the protective bars and thick wire-net watched him for a sign of him possibly wanting anything else, but he just nodded, took the mug and turned away. He chose the table with the easiest angle to keep track of anyone trying to get behind him, raised an eyebrow at the couple of inmates still stupid enough to stay seated and watched them scatter like bugs after their rock had been lifted. Then he sat down and inhaled his coffee. It had been a long day. At least his money had bought the exact correct dark blend for his coffee. He took another sip — closer to a swig, really, and made his shoulders relax. Waited. "So, Sir Crocodile." The voice was smooth, almost saccharine. "Whatever might have brought you under my roof? I feel honoured." Forced snickers near the voice, the rest of the hall dead silent. Occasional sound of shuffling as the smarter ones tried to covertly leave the place. He raised his gaze to look at the boy — and a boy he was, despite the arrogance he exuded, despite the impressive height — and tilted his head a little. Donquixote Doflamingo.

Djinn's Daughter #wip for #WiPWednesday! I'm about 4k into them training together now that the pack is gathered. It's perfectly safe for four teens with basically superpowers to begin mix-matching them, honest! Also it's not a backyard, Ryu's just being dramatic. *pats him*
(Not enough space to copypaste all. They just tested something and blew stuff up, lying on their backs and laughing.) "Oh bleeding sands, that was amazing!" She wasn't sure if she was more excited about the surprise, the moment of having to react to that much power, or the instant realization of potential they could all sense. Doffy was laughing like he couldn't breathe and she realized it was the first time. He had so far always kept himself in check, always within the control expected from his kind and now he was laughing like he was one of them, thrilled and having fun. About time. Hawk let the words take shape in her mind and she grinned in response. "Oh, I had not expected-" He was gasping the words out. "-guess that is adrenaline." "Yeah." Wani grinned, reached for Ryu over Doffy, grasped his hand over the Celestial's still laughter-shaking form. "'n see, we were perfectly safe!" Ryu made a sound that tried to be a snort but was really just him laughing, too. "Your mother's going to have a question or two about that sound, Sora's storms." "Sure. …and since she will, let's do it again!" "You mean… let's blow up the Djinn's backyard a bit more until she comes see what's going on?" "Yeah! She'd love to see this!" Doffy coughed, the thought of the Djinn witnessing any of this returning him to his control very fast. "Quite." "Come on, Doffy, that was amazing! I want to see it again. 'n now we know it'll happen, we'll be even safer. It'll be fun!" The Celestial watched her for a moment, the red glow covering his eyes meaningless for the feeling of being watched, his attention always clear. A smile formed on his lips, then in a moment that tasted like a surprise it turned into a grin. "As you will, Wani. Let us blow things up."

Oh hey, #WiPWednesday! 'n since it's Doffy's birthday tomorrow (Oct 23) that's of course the 'I'm almost done, I swear' #wip of the week. More Incubus Doffy because I am at my core a longfic writer. I -like- staying in the same world setting and building and building, so hey, a small series!
"Doflamingo got up and stretched. The pink feathers on his arms and back faded, his claws turned to nails, sharp teeth to human blunt ones, the red glow over his eyes diminishing until his eyes could pass as an albino. The blond halo of hair wasn't exactly white, nor could he ever be called pale, but it was still an acceptable mortal look. He took a step toward the door, then remembered clothes. A moment later he'd draped himself with jewelry, white silk, black leather and pink feathers in various shapes and fabric formats and wandered toward his parlor. The lights turned near the door, automatically adjusting to give him a proper entrance. The door opened without him needing to touch it and he took a step inside, pausing for effect and then, then he saw him. The shape, the height, the muscles, the eyes, oh hells, oh holy sands, the golden eyes with the sarcastic brows rising higher as he kept staring. "My lord-" The words were out like an exhale, like a prayer to the only god he'd ever worshiped. His legs felt weak, he wanted to fall on his knees, crawl to his king, beg- The man tilted his head. "No need for such customer courtesies, I am here on business only." The reality shattered and he gasped for breath. No. No, of course it wasn't his king. Doflamingo would have recognized his power half a continent away. No, this was a mortal. ...a mortal looking so very much like the Desert King it made his heart hurt somewhere under the seal. His heart hurt and his cock grow. He took a deep breath, collected himself, flashed a grin. "Shame." The man's brows rose a moment more, then he glanced at him properly, from bare pink-tipped toes all the way to his hair, settled back to his eyes. "Business before pleasure, Master Bird." He almost laughed at the name, no matter how well he knew his staff would have told the man to use it. No one knew his actual name, of course. His name belonged to his king.

Loogie brought up Doffy's eyes that are surely at least light-sensitive and probably much more, so this is now a 'let's talk about Doffy's eyes' day. Here's my snippet for the whole 'he's never without them, he doesn't know how to hide his emotions being visible in his eyes anymore' conversation.
Snippet from my One Piece fanfic The Grand Design of Rise and Burn, chapter 12. It describes Crocodile demanding that Doflamingo removes his shades before giving into his seduction. The text does not fit into alt, but the core paragraphs are: "Crocodile nodded, then brought the hook on the muscled shoulder, dragged it lightly over the quickening pulse, up to tap the red glasses with the sharp tip. "Off." He could see the brows rising, feel the hesitation hanging in the air. He tapped the glasses again. Knew he could shatter them. Wanted to. Take away Doflamingo's shields, wound him, scar him, steal his sight for daring to look at Crocodile like this. Maybe the thought was visible on his face because the blond did as he was told, the red shades removed, set on his desk, eyes lowered, watching them like he had given up on a limb. Maybe he had. "Good boy." He didn't have time to enjoy the hitched breath the words caused. No, because Doflamingo turned to look at him and it took all of Crocodile's resolve not to gasp, himself. His left eye was blind, which in hindsight should have been obvious. The man practically advertised it with his jolly roger. That was surprising, but not worth a shock. No, it was the right eye, the red eye, that twisted something inside Crocodile. It showed so many emotions, such vulnerability, such insanity that he did not know how to deal with any of it. Is it because he always wore the shades? Did he never learn to control what comes across when he's without his shields? He didn't stop himself when he realized his hand moved to brush thumb slowly under the blind eye. Doflamingo closed his eyes, and Crocodile moved his thumb over the closed lid in what he had to admit was a caress. "Pretty bird.""

WiP for my One Piece fanfic for Dragon's birthday. "The first time Dragon met Wani was when he was a marine recruit and Wani the pickpocket that robbed him blind. The whole unit laughed at him for a week. He had just tried to be helpful, and the boy with the golden eyes and a mischievous grin had claimed to be lost. Wasn't it the marine's duty to help civilians? So what if the boy talked him into escorting him to the market, and seemed to show more interest toward his weapons than Dragon so far had. Weapons were a tool for peacekeeping, not anything of interest on their own. So what if the boy's grin teased him in ways he didn't quite understand, but realized he didn't mind. So what if the boy tripped and had to grab him for support, hold onto him until he helped him sit down and went to look for a medic for his sprained ankle, only to find him gone by the time he and the medic returned, after which the old man serving as their medic had just laughed and told him to check his pockets. The laughing stopped in a week, but the pretense-falling and crying for his help continued for a month. * The second time he was an ensign patrolling the town they were briefly staying in, catching the familiar grin in the docks. The boy smoked a cigarette, but managed to grin at him around it. He didn't run, didn't move, just blew a smoke ring in the air, relaxed on a crate, sunset making his eyes even brighter. What was he supposed to do? Accuse him of an old crime? Ask if he was planning to commit other felonies? Was he plotting something? "Hey." That's apparently what he said, since he heard the word come out from his mouth."

Sending feedback to Bluesky is really easy. Quick to fill, simple form. I filled the original feedback survey, so figured I'd send them another now. I wrote it before morning coffee today, so there's probably a lot of points I failed to put to words, I just wanted it sent out the first thing.
The feedback text I sent to Bluesky: "This is feedback on the latest Community Guidelines. There is no way you can 100% accurately moderate between consensual and non-consensual art depicting fictional characters. D.ii is just a slippery slope of vagueness leaving the matter to the personal taste of a human mod or faulty AI procedure of whoever/whatever is doing the moderating. Who decides if a picture of rough sex or BDSM is non-con or not? Do the characters need to be smiling, do there need to be 'I consent' speech bubbles, what? You can have good intentions with this, but the practice is just blowing doors wide open to censorship based on feelings and personal tastes. I would rather see a guideline banning any non-con content depicting real people, whether it's traditional realistic media (photos, video) or art. Let the subjects of the content be the deciding factor. Protect real people. Add in an exception about fictional characters. Fictional characters cannot consent. They cannot get hurt. They cannot be doxxed. They cannot be abused. They are fictional. They are not real. Let your tags and spoiler and other various hiding systems do the job there, trust your tools, trust your users to curate their own experience. Please do not give into the fascist zeitgeist of puritanism and censorship."

WiP for upcoming One Piece fanfic, for Doflamingo's birthday on October 23rd. "Doflamingo was bored. He was bored of being bored. Hells, he felt he'd been bored for millennia now. Why were humans so boring, so predictable? He tried so hard. At first he had been relocating after every century or so, but the last millennium he hadn't even bothered to do that. The world was full of long-lived races and various beings far beyond them, and it was simply accepted as normalcy. He could pretend to be one of those and since he was rich and powerful, no one would dare to check the truth. When he had first arrived to this particular locale it had been a small picturesque town, just barely bigger than a village, existing because its harbour was an excellent midway point for most trade. Sometimes he made himself tour its districts now and marvel at the riches and excitement, the life within it. Amazing what an incubus-run pleasure district could do to a town when it stayed active for a thousand years. He didn't even ask much in return! Just enough lust in his environments to keep him fed, sometimes a better meal when he saw someone intriguing enough to feed on, and for the damn mayflies to stop BORING him! But no. Century after century of kinks every generation thought new and daring, same secrets, same desires, same fucking mundane goals of getting to feel special for half an hour and then go back to their lives of ...what, trading pieces of metal and fucking potatoes and fighting for positions they thought were power. Oh, they hadn't even DREAMED of power, these little ants. Fuck, how he missed his king."
