Indeed, and might have prevailed in 2020 if he had gotten in earlier. He still wouldn’t have beaten Mitch, but would have brought a different set of ideas to the race, and IMO would have boosted Dem enthusiasm statewide.

WRT to the 2026 primary, I will be keeping an eye on Pamela Stevenson.

Oddly enough, your pointing this out re: the ME race makes me less mad about McGrath declaring in KY. Let there be a robust primary! If none of the other prospects (already 1 or 2 good ones) can’t get past McGrath in the primary, then we’d not want them in the general.

Realizing that, however much I enjoyed cooking that ratatouille over the weekend, I wasn’t careful enough about the post-exertional malaise that left me irritable and brain-fogged for (at least) two days afterwards. I have some serious apologizing to do, is all I’m sayin’.

But what you gotta remember is that for the Christian Nationalist contingent, any pastor or churchgoer who’s not fully on board with them is at best a heretic and is more likely regarded as a demonic servant of Satan. And when it comes to us DSoS-es, they don’t need no stinking consciences.

As a disabled person, it's disheartening to see one of the foundational pushers of alt text, a Black STEM voice, a queer advocate, and a huge voice for the disabled community gone over a poor taste joke.

From my perspective (in a Louisville hard-blue precinct), there are a couple of more layers to explaining the money draw. What’s more important is that I saw no sign of her using that money at all effectively. And I don’t see any sign that this particular candidate would play 2026 any differently.

I think the anger about the money comes from a sense that in previous campaigns, she drew money and attention that could have been more effectively directed at other Dem candidates around the nation who might have had more going for them than “I’m a generic centrist with a compelling life story.”
