Behold! It's me, talking about my upcoming picture book, Ellis on Guard, illustrated by the immensely talented Nandita Ratan! It's not out til February, but my publisher, @secondstory.bsky.social, sent me an ARC, so I decided to show it off a bit, cause I'm SO EXCITED about this character. 1/3

Hey #teachers, there was someone on here compiling a list of research links on the impact of AI on education. I thought I saved it, but can't find it now. Anyone know who that was?

Sizing: the chair alone is 51” square (51” deep and 51” long). With the ottoman, we measured 69” deep. The chair itself is 22” high, and with the biggest cushion in place, it’s about 31/32” tall.

Not sure what's wrong with the grey chair link but here it is again! www.facebook.com/share/179dYZ...

2. A vintage mid-century modern velour chaise lounge. To be honest, no regrets with this one. Just need the space back. In really good shape for its age (60s or 70s). Just a bit of wear in one area on the side (pics). On Marketplace for $500. For bsky? $400 wow! www.facebook.com/share/1B2EGc... 3/3

1. A round, barely used "cuddler" chair/ottoman. It would have been the perfect reading chair if it fit in our long skinny living room. Then I didn't return it when I should have (ADHD: 1, Sal 0). Paid $1800 new, on Marketplace for $500. For you, bsky? $400! www.facebook.com/share/1CZNaK... 2/3

🧵 Anyone in #halisky need an amazing-but-enormous chair? If you're in the market, I have not one, but two (!) options for you to choose from! With ✨ special ✨ discounts for Bluesky people. 1/3
Potato (an adorable long-haired mini dachshund) and me, demonstrating the sheer vintage cool of a brown MCM-style chaise lounge by sitting on it awkwardly because I didn't want to put my shoes on the chair. There is a ridiculously stuffed bookshelf behind us and also a bunch of paperword we needed to burn back there too. A boring image of a beautiful grey chair and ottoman. The chair swivels, the ottaman can be used for storage, there are cushions galore, what more could you ask for (besides a good-sized room to put it in)?

Fancy Autocomplete will never be able to keep up with weird human brains.

Also, I haven't been around much cause I bought myself a Brick, which is the little device that makes it impossible to access social media on my phone unless I ask my partner to get it from wherever he hid it so that I can "unbrick" my phone. Mental health is on the upswing.

I wrote this in May: "Here in Canada, we are not immune to the influence of our neighbors to the south... As we watch what is happening in the US, I hope we will continue to speak up for the freedom to read."

As Alberta bans books, I'm glad to see people pushing back!

My book Pride Puppy is about love and inclusion. Watching its message get twisted by hate and misinformation has been devastating.

I will remind folks those images of Nazi book burnings aren't burning just any books. They're burning the library of Magnus Hirschfeld; a gay, Jewish doctor who created an institute dedicated to LGBTQ sex education and healthcare. And a man who pioneered gender affirming care surgeries.

I love this view of Halifax from Georges Island
Halifax as seen through a brick window.

We use bell internet. Might call and threaten to switch over more of this. Telus has some pretty good promos.

I didn’t know I could do that! Thanks!

Oh Angela, I didn’t know you were so close! I hope you’re holding up okay! I’m close to where the Tantallon fire was, and it was awful. Sending hugs.

I kept accidentally ending up in the Discover feed! That’s when it was the worst.

For me, it’s helped to realized that if I overwhelm myself with things I can’t control, I’ll be too mentally burnt out to help in areas where I CAN make a difference. It’s about conserving energy so I can still be effective, I guess.

That’s it for me. It’s just the sheer volume of it. We’re not meant to absorb all this at once, all the time.

Sharing this because I think it’s important to talk about. I feel like I can’t be the only one feeling this way, and so maybe it’ll help someone else feel ok about drawing that line too.
