Pregnant women detained by ICE report horrifying treatment: shackling, solitary confinement, no prenatal vitamins, inadequate food. ICE's own directives and regulations require the agency to avoid detention of pregnant people in the first place. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...
Pregnant women describe miscarrying and bleeding out while in ICE custody, advocates say
The ACLU and other groups are pressing for ICE to identify and release all pregnant women in custody and to stop detaining anyone known to be pregnant, postpartum or nursing.

NEW: Of the 230+ Venezuelans deported to El Salvador:
• Almost half had immigration cases that were not yet decided
• More than 60 had pending asylum claims, some just days away from final hearings

These men had followed U.S. immigration procedures. Then Trump changed the rules.
He Came to the U.S. to Support His Sick Child. He Was Detained. Then He Disappeared.
Like most of the more than 230 Venezuelan men deported to a Salvadoran prison, José Manuel Ramos Bastidas had followed U.S. immigration rules. Then Trump rewrote them.

this is the level of funding where all the possibilities for American politics that have been described as hyperbolic over the past decades - the comparisons to Nazi Germany and other nightmares of the 20th century - become logistically possible and politically likely
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

Devastating conditions of confinement are rapidly declining as people are denied food and water for over 12 hours, not given beds or bedding to sleep on, and being transferred to detention centers nationwide without access to counsel. #LosAngelesRaids

Aside from cutting health care for the elderly & poor, the Republican budget steers $160 BILLION to enrich private prisons + quadruple the size of Trump’s American Gestapo ICE — while making them immune from prosecution.

TLDR: You are not alarmed enough.

SO proud of the outcome in this case we @nipnlg.bsky.social litigated on behalf of the most wonderful human beings and the amazing outcome we were able to achieve.
NEW: In a SCATHING decision, Judge Briones of the Western District of Texas absolutely SAVAGED the government over this case, tearing to shreds ICE’s hearsay “evidence” that this husband and wife were in Tren de Aragua as “completely and wholly unsubstantiated” — and ordered their immediate release!

Our client worked in the arts in Venezuela. He is LGBTQ. His tattoos are benign. But ICE submitted photos of his tattoos as evidence he isTren de Aragua. His @ImmDef attorney planned to present evidence he is not. But never got the chance because our client has been disappeared.

this is an act of unspeakable violence. it benefits no one, it doesn’t move a number on a balance sheet. it only guarantees that every one of these incarcerated transgender people will be tortured.

In devastating but expected news: Legal service providers nationwide were instructed by the Trump admin today to stop work on the Office of Refugee Resettlement's unaccompanied child legal services program. This means that every migrant child in federal custody will be without legal information.

The Trump administration has just authorized Department of Justice officers (Bureau of Prisons, ATF, US Marshals, DEA etc.), who have not traditionally had such authority, to enforce immigration law, effectively multiplying available federal agents for deportation.
