Surely the Tricouncils have a data governance policy that would prohibit the release of confidential and private applicant information, would they not?
Canadian researchers should be aware the there is a motion before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science and Research to force Tricouncils to hand over disaggregated peer review data on all applications:
Applicant names, profiles, demographics
Reviewers names, profiles, comments, and scores

It’s been so heartbreaking to see what’s happening to research in the US. Now it’s also going to be heartbreaking to see irreplaceable international studies get damaged.

International studies are often the biggest of the big deals in health research. They produce so much useful knowledge.
NIH is ending billions of dollars in foreign subawards, jeopardizing thousands of projects on infectious diseases, cancer and more.

Unless foreign researchers secure funding directly from NIH by October — a tall order for any researcher — clinical trials abroad and other research will shut down.
