Blaten, the village that was destroyed yesterday by the Birch Glacier, is about 20km from the separate Aletsch Glacier, where I reported this story last year about widespread reluctance to vote for parties trying to do anything about climate change.

This really does remind me of Germany in 1940s so much. The greatest scientists left due to the horrific regime & made great advances in their new American home.
I hope many Americans come to Europe & feel welcome. America will (like Germany then) regress, but it is the choice the majority made.
