nobody ever says Franco was "better at fascism" than Hitler, even though Franco was in power until 1973.

being "good at it" basically just determines: 1) how big is the blaze of glory you go out in, 2) how many people do you kill along the way, 3) does the fascism last past your death

I think he and Newsom are going the easiest possible Dem resist lib route, which is to try to work the courts. Newsom has unfortunately gone slightly farther with these kinds of legal maneuvers (gerrymandering, telling unis not to take Trump's "deal"). Unfortunate only because I want him to lose

they are of two kinds: 1) people who, when describing antisemitism, constantly resort to Islamophobia; 2) people who think that any time anyone mentions antisemitism they are *only* silencing criticism of Israel

“Portland is burning to the ground” is an empirically verifiable/falsifiable claim. If our oligarch-owned media were interested in truth rather than serving the regime, they would report it as false every time he said it. They could for example be in Portland and look around and go “hmm, nope”

yes, absolutely. but it’s inherently vague which is why people eternally get into arguments about border cases and why every attempt to practically deploy a strong and clear definition of the group fails in some way. in liturgy the collective is a single agent and none of these problems really arise
